Much similar research in the last 20 years has shown simply that there is far more genetic variation within almost any local group of people than there is between the supposed "races" of mankind. The genetic variation that makes people look different is trivial. We just happen to be visually oriented.
Dogs, which show a similar amount of variation, but have better noses, are probably bigoted about how other dogs smell.
Both mtDNA and Y chromosome studies show that all humans can trace ancestry to a handful of individuals at some point in the last 150,000 years.
None of this will stop a Serb shooting a Pakistani on the perfectly rational grounds that neither of them is a protestant.
