On August 2, 2002, President Bush signed the American Servicemembers' Protection Act (ASPA) into law, codifying U.S. opposition to the ICC. Under ASPA, many ICC States Parties had their military assistance suspended as of July 1, 2003. The ASPA also restricts U.S. ability to cooperate with ICC investigations and trials.

Looks like pre-emptive preparation for abuse at Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib.

It's false to say Kerry voted "to raise gas taxes ten times" as stated in the "Thinking Mom" ad. Even the Bush campaign's own list of votes doesn't back that up. There has been only one increase -- more than a decade ago -- when the federal gasoline tax went up just over four cents per gallon as part of Clinton's 1993 package of tax increases and spending cuts.

The Bush campaign lists ten votes Kerry cast, five of them on the measure that resulted in that 1993 increase. Four others were against Republican proposals to repeal that same 4.3-cent increase after it was already in place -- so it's false to say those were votes to "raise" the tax. The same goes for the tenth vote, which was against temporarily suspending the 18.4-cent federal gasoline gas tax altogether during a spike in prices in 2000.

So:
5 votes on 1 measure in 1993.
4 votes opposing a repeal of that measure
1 vote opposing a tax cut.

So ultimately there has been exactly 1 gasoline tax increase supported by Kerry.

Probably lots more by either side at that site.

It is unlikely that I will be responding to any more of your posts as judging by your past record your opinion, when it can be filtered out from the abuse you hurl, isn't worth reading.

Feel free to hurl abuse in this thread. It's what you do best. I just feel sorry for the people that actually have to meet you.

I was foolish to think that people would understand what a lie was and be able to find a link on the Internet to support the alleged lie.

A passive-aggressive attack is still an attack. At this point, I couldn't care less if you respond to any of my posts, since you are entirely an attention-seeking self-contradictory hypocrite. People in this thread offered what you wanted, but you kept refining the criteria and moving the goalposts. Then when you were asked for clarification, you dropped your thinly-veiled passive-aggressive insults. You then googled the information you wanted, apparently satisfying your ever-changing criteria because you had intimate knowledge of yourself. I found it annoying, and skipped right to the point.

But it certainly was fun using your own words to hang you. By the way, rather than reading my 1600 posts for character evaluation, why didn't you just read a couple dozen on the candidates in order to evaluate THEIR characters?

Oh, I give up. I was foolish to think you could overcome your laziness. Entirely my fault. I have difficulty writing in passive-aggressive, it seems.
