Hello from a non-skeptic

The post on "get a life" was deleted just as others have been.

No posts made in this thread have been deleted.

If you answer my questions concerning how the act of observation can cause the wave-particle effect

Already answered. It doesn't.

and how a plant, who knowingly has no brain, can hold a form of "consciousness"

Already answered. It doesn't.

I would very much like to request the moderation team here that this thread might now be closed.

Threads on this forum do not get closed just because one person has decided they don't like them.

Certainly there are dishonest people everywhere, and we must be able to differentiate them

Indeed. And you're giving us some great practice at it.

but all that you have shown me here from the start has been extreme rudeness (now fortunately deleted), accusations and attacks.

Considering how conclusively this has been proven to be a lie, numerous times throughout the thread, it takes some serious balls to carry on repeating it. Do you seriously have such a low opinion of every other person on the planet that you don't consider anyone capable of actually reading this thread, seeing your own abysmal behaviour and the incredibly polite, given the circumstances, replies you have had?

Posts telling you to get a life were deleted? That's a serious accusation on the JREFF, Charles; can you substantiate that? Moderators do not delete posts, they are moved to AAH if they breach the rules (some posts are moved to deep storage if they are an egregious breach or might contravene the law). ETA I see a moderator has now confirmed to you that no posts have been deleted.

To help you substantiate your accusation, here is the link to the posts in AAH: http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193519 I have looked through AAH and no other posts from this thread have been moved there as far as I can see.

If a post of yours responding to Les's research on the town of Biggar was sent to AAH, it's not in the split I linked to above (if fact, you have no posts in that split); to assert that you made such a post and that it's been deleted is a serious accusation here.

And I note that once again, you make more unfounded accusations against the posters on this thread:

"you have all told me to leave so many times" - this is demonstrably untrue.

"extreme rudeness, now deleted" - demonstrably untrue.

If I were charitable, I'd suggest you might have muddled this thread with one you might have conducted elsewhere. if I were not, I would say that I have shown you to be a liar, and that I have evidenced that statement.

Despite that, I wish you every success with your book (and a merry Christmas).

I love the old "I won't spoon feed you" or "I won't do your homework for you" evasion lines that are trotted out by cranks and woos when faced with requests for evidence.

Les, I have not replied to you out of politeness. In fact I have, but my post was deleted (which I knew it would be).

<delurking>
Which is it, Charles? Have you not replied, or have you? it is so confusing how you can do things at the same time as not doing them.

This thread is one of the most entertaining and educational I've come across in a long time. Thank you and season's greetings to all.

It's a useful tactic. If they say, "here is my evidence", there is always the danger that someone will point out that the evidence is nonsense. If they say "find the evidence yourself", and someone does so and points out that it is nonsense, they can simply reply, "but that isn't the evidence I meant".

Agatha has just explained the difference between deep storage and AAH. Obvious spam also is removed from view. (I believe)

Have a look at the entire AAH section. You may be surprised to see that the founder of the JREF had a post moved. And it is obvious why it was done.

Many fora, such as PLF, do indeed hard delete (or hide) posts and threads at the discretion of the moderators or administrators.

But that is not done here.

As to AAH, when the mods 'clean out' a thread, they often take a block of posts en masse, presumably for ease and expediency. Members are entitled to request that their moved post be re-placed in the thread.

I keep beginning a reply then erasing it.

I am just boggled by the utter depth and transparency of Charles' latest lies, the tenacity with which he clings to unsupported fantasy, and the dishonest manner in which he disregards honest and well-founded critique.

Boggled.

In one previous life he replied, and in another he didn't.

On top of that, it looks as though some of Charles's's' post's were deleted in one of these previous lives, but they'll be back in another incarnation soon enough. Goodness knows how much that's going to confuse things

And thus are we all emBiggarened.

One issue that could possibly have led Charles to believe that posts had been deleted is that the forum's search function, as far as I'm aware, does not index AAH, so searching for all of a user's posts won't find those that have been moved there.

If you answer my questions concerning how the act of observation can cause the wave-particle effect and how a plant, who knowingly has no brain, can hold a form of "consciousness" as demonstrated by the experiment with the lie detector, then we can continue. "Consciousness" is "Information" in its purest form, and it is at the origin of the creation of all things.

[citation needed]

Find the means to test this and I very much doubt that you will prove me wrong.

Sorry, Charles, but it is your proposition, so it is up to you to support it. It is not up to other people to disprove it. You don't get to reverse the burden of proof like that, for a number of reasons including that it is not possible to prove a negative.

Regarding the "get a life" thing: I seem to remember someone telling Charles that he needed to "get out more". Which not only isn't the same thing, it's good advice - all fantasy and no reality makes Charles a dull boy.

Oh, and it's good to see the Lord of the Two Lands back again!

Your point about general posts being moved is taken, Mojo.

Les, I have not replied to you out of politeness. In fact I have, but my post was deleted (which I knew it would be). You are certainly not qualified to evaluate my work, and your insinuations are not worth my responding to, just ignored as I have been doing.

I searched all of AAH for any posts by Charles. I came up empty.
(As always, I could be wrong about this)

This type of argument isn't working for you Charles. What you need is an advocate who knows the ropes of this site and can be a proponent of your ambition. I can do that. Now that FSM no longer flirts with me all you have to do is get Sunniva to contact me. I'll do the rest.

Big Les is a fan of Mr. Biggles (I can mock that) and Alice Shortcake may have written a paper without proper references.

What will you do for me?

The concept of spiritual evolution via the reincarnatory process is beautiful, it is perfect and it is without flaw.
Whatever one's subjective opinion of its beauty, it certainly isn't perfect or flawless. It has no physical mechanism, yet claims physical influence, it has no convincing supporting evidence, it has no useful explanatory or predictive power, has no practical application, is unnecessary (Occam's Razor), is ill-defined and obscure (spiritual evolution?), and generally contradicts well-established physical and biological knowledge.

Apart from that, it's perfect & flawless - or did I miss something?

An inverse case of 'What have the Romans ever done for us?' :)
