Hello from a non-skeptic

Okay, so here it is:

Charles Boden is not really a past life guy... he is instead,

a time traveller.

Instead of a DeLorean, he uses a different vehicle to travel back and forth in time... he uses a WikiLorean. Instead of Christopher Lloyd as a wacky sidekick, he has a wacky Brazillian psychic with a very decipherable IP address.

Scoff if you will, relish in you stupor if you must, but tomorrow (or yesterday, whichever) we will all wake up thinking whatever Charles wants us to think about the past is true, because he will have MADE it true.

Everything will be made clear in

THE BODEN CODEX

and Big Les will spell it all out for us in a week or two. I can't wait. Maybe then I can figure out how to change the Amelia Earhart Wiki....

ETA: Almost forgot-- Alice, you rock!

I'm going to report this entire thread for attacking the apostrophe instead of the argument!

Somehow i'm sure that if someone would go to that strange "spiritualist center" over there, that person would surely find out that Charles was talking about his supposed royal ancestry all the time, and thus made it easy for the medium to get and use that piece of information.

I'll bet a six-pack of tasty german beer on all that.

Chris, I have visions of Charles turning up at seances wearing a Stewarts of Appin tartan kilt and a t-shirt emblazoned with the words "BONNIE PRINCE CHARLIE RULES!"

I don't know what Charles thinks -- but I would be proud to have this group of people look so forward to reading what I wrote. May the future book of Senex (notice how I dodged the possessive case) be as anticipated.

What kind of case do you use for storing your possessives? Mine is oak, and my granddaddy gave it to me when I won my first punctuation bee.

Shame on me, but:

How do we know the previous version of the article is correct? There aren't any citation that we could go back on (in which case let's find 'em!) :boxedin:

It doesn't matter if the previous version is correct or not because the original story is irrelevant to Charles' agenda. Charles isn't claiming descent from an obscure female member of the Stewarts of Appin who married into the Campbell family, he needs to provide proof that Duncan Stewart, 6th of Appin, had a son named John who married and had children. By the simple expedient of editing the WP entry, reversing the couple's ancestry and making the husband Duncan Stewart's second son John - a man whom both Burke's Peerage and the Stewart family's own documents record as having died without issue - Charles created a superficially convincing source for his story (well, convincing to the woo-inclined).

I suspect that a Google search for "Stewarts of Appin" turned up the original article, and the combination of the link with Lawers - the region to which Charles believes his ancestors moved - and the appeal of being descended from a soothsayer was enough to transform him from a shoddy researcher into a forger.

Get on with your writing; I'm looking forward to reading Seneck's Book.

One day I may use CreateSpace to publish my adaptation's of Roman play's, namely those of Plautu's and S'eneca.*

This is getting very silly so I'm going to bed now. I'm absolutely exhausted by the strain of relishing in my stupor.

*Alright, I've only actually finished one play but I'm thinking about doing another three.

The book has been dispatched, at about the same time as C'h'a'r'l'e's' credibility was by Alice.
