Helen Thomas, the former fixture of the White House Press gallery who was removed earlier this year amid accusations of anti-semitism after she was recorded saying "jews go home" dug in and doubled down in front of an arab community gathering in Detroit, repeating the old conspiracist canard that the jews are in control of everything:

"We are owned by propagandists against the Arabs. There's no question about that. Congress, the White House, and Hollywood, Wall Street, are owned by the Zionists. No question in my opinion. They put their money where there mouth is…We're being pushed into a wrong direction in every way."​

Yeah... "the jews control all the financial institutions", that kind of talk never leads to anything bad, does it Helen? You'd think a reporter would be able to look this kind of thing up like in a library book somewhere or old newspapers or something?
 
I strongly condemn her, but everybody knows it's true. Israel is an incredibly racist society.

Right -- it's common knowledge that entry into the country is routinely denied to those with, say, so much as an Iranian *stamp* on their passport, and that their highest officials have repeatedly announced their intention to wipe Iran off the map.

And of course, no non-Jewish person is allowed to vote, or participate in the military, or own a business, and an entire gender is considered property there and....

This just in: "Info" is not a hypocrite of the highest order, mostly because that requires a qualifier of excellence "Info" does not possess.

You seemed to want to talk about racism which you perceived Israel to practice.

I was pointing out (perhaps too subtly for you) that there were better targets for your whine, and that those targets' policies just *might* explain your perception a bit better than your whine did.

But I think you know full well what I was saying, since you took the time to snip the parts of my post referring to non-Jewish participation in Israeli society, because it trashed your "incredibly racist" comment to pieces.

We're talking about her comments regarding "Zionists" controlling American policy and media. Not Israeli domestic policies.

And , you condemn her and agree with her? How do you pull that off?

Not moreso than any other, and much less than some I could mention.

Perhaps you should define "race," so that we know we're talking about the same thing?

But in another thread, since this is (supposed to be) discussing an ideology, Zionism and its impact on American national policy. May I suggest Social Issues? I don't often frequent that forum, but it would seem to be more appropriate for the discussion. PM me the link, and I'll be there.

After the speech in Dearborn, Wayne State University, located in Detroit, announced they would no longer be giving out the "Helen Thomas Spirit of Diversity Award".
 
Does the pro-Israel lobby in the United States weild disproportionate power and effect our foreign policy? Yes, it's an issue worth addressing (not making a statement about the correctness/wrongness of that lobby's position--simply noting they have far reaching effect in our government).

Does this have anything with Jews "controlling" Hollywood, Media, McDonalds, the Miami Heat...

Therein lies the bigotry.

It's painfully clear that to Thomas the words "Zionist" and "Jew" are interchangable.
And I did not know that Louis B Mayer, Jack and Harry Warner, Carl Zukor, and Sam Goldwyn were Isreali agents.......
