and I looked up the details of this after hearing this story on the BBC radio. As it turns out she wasn't prosecuted for being a "witch" or having "powers", she was prosecuted for being a fraud, as the Daily Mirror's link makes slightly clearer. It was her defence that tried to demonstrate that she had any actual abilities.

There are quite a few pictures at the website about Harry Price which are incredible. I say incredible, because I can't get my head round why Helen Duncan and her husband agreed to let them be taken.

The story was on the main BBC evening news tonight. They reported as fact the myth that Winston Churchill had visited her in prison.
Think I'll fire off a complaint to them.
