I can honestly say, Skeptigirl, that if I was anywhere near the attempted sexual assaults made on you, the man that attempted to do it would be decked out onto the floor if I had half the chance.

Just want to make that clear. I know this makes me seem pretty violent (and goes a ways towards proving you right about us men), but I think the situation would warrant it. One needs a way to say "no" to such people that sticks to their memories.

This seques nicely into KingMerv's thread about "Are Men More Violent Than Women." ;)

I was groped or fondled (grondled?) when I was 15. I was not interested and he took no to mean no so I can't say it really bothered me that much. I am not sure that really counts as assault so I haven't voted.

I neglected to mention that I'm 5'10" and was a buxom, size 12 Amazon, back in the day. ;)

OK, this is sick:

In Scotland, rape is a gender-specific crime, meaning it can only be committed by males upon females. Oral, anal and male rape do not constitute rape, nor is digital penetration sufficient.[5]

Disgusting.

Just because it is not called rape doesn't mean that it isn't illegal or won't be as severely punished. It doesn't matter whether its called rape or sexual assualt or whatever, so long as it is a criminal offense and the offender gets sufficient punishment.

In the last link you have what I guess is about the only way this supposedly can happen, guy is asleep, wakes to woman having sex with him.

How do you not wake up sooner and how do you keep an erection if you truly are not consenting?

How do female vaginas secrete lubricants and vulvas/clitorises engorge during rape if they truly aren't consenting? Does that mean they actually wanted to be raped? If a female experiences an orgasm during rape does it mean it was consentual? Ridiculous arguments.

Some males at some ages will retain an erection provided direct stimulation to the penis is given, no matter what their mental states are. Some, or many, also have an erection for long periods of their sleep-cycle. And some sleep more soundly than others, or have passed out from drink, etc.

Why are you so determined to deny that females can rape males??

Again, you dismiss an example of a woman sexual assault that dosn't fit your preconceived idea of rape.

What about Lynndie England? The victims were all male (again, we're talking about sexual assault).

Given the opportunity, women can be as violent and abusive.
There has been no discussion here that women were incapable of violence and abuse. Again, your imagination colors what you are reading.

Again, you're dismissing another case, on the grounds that it may be "faked"... :rolleyes:
I am willing to accept this story if it didn't look like a classic Net Myth. If you find some evidence it isn't, let us know. But don't blame me for actually checking on the factual nature of this fantasy.

Relevant Google searches to find the truth here:

"woman convicted of rape" gets you only the story about the woman giving oral sex to the sleeping Norway man and a few cases of statutory rape of minors by women.

No results found for "Two Women Convicted of Rape". If you take the quotes off you get nothing at all on women convicted of rape.

Jessica Tutuck brings up the blog and a forum discussion.

Alexandra Blackford brings up the blog and a forum discussion.

The Lasik article's title brings up the blog and a couple repros of it.

Jefferson county judge involved cannot be found to exist.

The conviction supposedly happened ~Mar 2008. Google brings up not a single news account. There is no Judge Timothy Randall in a Jefferson county. I can't even find a judge Timothy Randall in a Google search.

The question here is why are you so sure this story is real?

Which is sexual assault and rape. Your choice of words is telling, you are downplaying it.
No, you are making up your own version of this thread.

You sound as if that's no big deal. These are cases of sexual abuse by women.

No results found for "Two Women Convicted of Rape". If you take the quotes off you get nothing at all on women convicted of rape.
Maybe it's not reported enough, men usually are ashamed to admit it.

And what about lesbian rape?

The question here is why are you so sure this story is real?
I don't know if it's real or not, but you're awfully quick to dismiss it. Reality doesn't begin and end with Google.

And did you see what he was wearing? He was SO asking for it!
Believe it or not I am trying hard to be skeptical about my world view that adult women raping adult men is ludicrous on so many levels. Notwithstanding the issue of women being violent toward men, injuring men, and the possibility of the violence being of a sexual nature, I am not convinced women can really physically rape a man. It's one thing to insert an erect penis into a vagina, it's quite another to "force" a man to have an erection.

Are women capable of violence against men, of course. My argument in the other thread was one of an imbalance in frequency and degree. Are women ever guilty of statutory rape of a minor? Of course. Same standards should apply to either gender in these cases.

But unwilling male penetration of a female? I'm trying to keep an open mind. I am troubled by a couple things here. I think serious intoxication would most likely make an erection difficult. Being asleep as this guy claims, apparently the woman's version of events didn't help her case but do we really have evidence to go on here? Even if this occurred, I would have thought there would be more examples to be found considering how many posters in this thread just take it as a given women can physically rape an unwilling man.

After trying to find the Jefferson County rape conviction case which you would expect to have made at least a couple of news papers, there really wasn't more than the Norway case and a couple statutory rape convictions.

I just cannot overcome my skepticism that adult women raping adult men amounts to more than a couple cases of guys with regrets upon awakening or sobering up. I'm not saying the men had no right to expect not to be molested when they were 'out', but I fear the claim of women raping men has been highly over-rated here.

Perhaps women don't realise that males do not actually have as much control over erections as you might presume. Usually amongst males it's a matter of hilarity and amusement when a fellow has an unwanted erection, but it can actually be quite distressing in certain circumstances, and sometimes it can't be stopped. There's more truth to "it has a mind of its own" than you might realise.

Were a woman able to physically restrain a male in some way - either by physical strength, threat of violence, drugging, or something - it's rather quite plausible that she could induce an erection against his will and thus rape him. I know to a woman that probably sounds utterly illogical and nonsensical. But then you've never had to deal with owning a penis, so you couldn't possibly know.

And that is, of course, not taking into account use of other physical objects for anal penetration.

Mock away. I'm merely trying to stick to the evidence. I don't have any hidden agenda horse in the race.

That it has become.

I find it interesting that there is so much interest in equating female violence to male violence in the thread, " Are men really more violent than women?" and in showing females to be rapists as much as men are in this one.

My my but you boys seems to resent something here. ;)

I've never been sexually assaulted that I can recall.

As for whether women rape men, I'm quite happy to believe that something like 99% of rapes are committed by men, but that doesn't diminish the (equal) seriousness of the 1% of the time that a woman is the perpetrator. (Adjust the percentages to whatever values you think are plausible, I strongly suspect it's an underreported crime but I doubt it's anything like as common as rape by men).

If you think that every man is ecstatic to have their penis in any vagina under any circumstances whatsoever you've got a view of male sexuality based more on jokes than the reality. I find it entirely plausible that a man could suffer from insomnia and disinterest in sex for a while after waking up to being raped.

You sound as if that's no big deal. These are cases of sexual abuse by women.

Maybe it's not reported enough, men usually are ashamed to admit it.
Not a single report Pard? Not one substantiated report?

Clearly a few men have had unwanted advances to varying degrees of success. I've not discounted this. You seem to be upset I would like more evidence a women can 'force' a man to get an erection.

And what about lesbian rape?
What about it?

I don't know if it's real or not, but you're awfully quick to dismiss it. Reality doesn't begin and end with Google.
I was not quick to dismiss the case. To the contrary I spent considerable time trying to substantiate the story, but at this point it appears to be pure made up myth.

You do realise that this exact attitude towards rape of females is what has devastated the lives of so many women right - the stereotype of the slutty female who gets caught out and cries "rape". That disgusting, disgusting myth which society fought to hard to turn around. And now you want to promote it? I mean, the hypocrisy of this statement is so thick I'm amazed you're not drowning in it.

Here's the crux of the matter:

A female can induce an erection in a male without his consent and against his will.

From RAINN: http://www.rainn.org/statistics

*One in six women and one in thirty-three men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime.

*Sexual Assault vs. Rape

Notice that we said "sexual assault," not "rape."

Sexual assault is a broader category that the Justice Department uses to classify rape, attempted rape, and other violent felonies that fall short of rape. Rape is defined as forced vaginal, oral, or anal penetration.

In 2005, there were approximately 200,780 sexual assaults. Of these, 64,080 were completed rapes. So if you want a figure that covers only rapes, divide 31,536,000 by 64,080. That comes out to 1 rape ever 492 seconds or 1 rape every 8 minutes.

*Breakdown by Gender and Age

Women

1 out of every 6 American women have been the victims of an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime (14.8% completed rape; 2.8% attempted rape).

17.7 million American women have been victims of attempted or completed rape.

9 of every 10 rape victims were female in 2003.

While about 80% of all victims are white, minorities are somewhat more likely to be attacked.

Lifetime rate of rape /attempted rape for women by race:

* All women: 17.6%
* White women: 17.7%
* Black women: 18.8%
* Asian Pacific Islander women: 6.8%
* American Indian/Alaskan women: 34.1%
* Mixed race women: 24.4%

Men

About 3% of American men — or 1 in 33 — have experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime.

* In 2003, 1 in every ten rape victims were male.
* 2.78 million men in the U.S. have been victims of sexual assault or rape.

I couldn't find any stats on female-on-male rape. I'm not suggesting it never happens, just that the info isn't readily available.

ETA: The info on rape of males seems to point to male-on-male rape. http://www.rainn.org/get-information/types-of-sexual-assault/male-sexual-assault

Teenage boys maybe. But adult men get erections because they are aroused. Women are not aroused when they are raped.

I merely asked for evidence it actually happens. I was open to the possibility given how many people here seem to believe it is possible. But now I am even less convinced. WHERE'S THE EVIDENCE IT HAPPENS? I'll keep an open mind to the drunk or asleep molestation, but that really doesn't fit the bill for the kind of forced rape being claimed here that occurs female on male.

And that is, of course, not taking into account use of other physical objects for anal penetration.
No one has questioned the possibility of this. You and Pard both seem to be expanding the subject here into all these other claims and judgements I have not made.

Here's the crux of the matter:

A female can induce an erection in a male without his consent and against his will.
Yes, gumboot, you've said that. Other than a guy who's asleep or intoxicated, where's the evidence to back it up?
