Yes, free to smoke your weed.

Yes, free to have your guns.

No, taxes are needed, just not labor taxes.

No, free to have an abortion determined by the States as it is not the purview of the Federal government.

That seems to imply that weed is under the purview of the Federal government and not the states. If so, why?

This was not the intended implication. The States may ban it if they so choose.

Thank you.

Now, to answer your's:

After they take out the money for my fees, I get about $3k back each quarter, including what I'm allotted for work study. A quarter is 10 weeks + finals, so that's about $272/week. That's not too bad, but for a 40 hour week, it's about $6.80/hr. The university expects that for each unit, three hours of work/week, including class time, will be done and that's more or less accurate, giving me a 39 hour week with a 13 unit quarter. I then work 10-15 hours a week for the work study on top of that, bringing my total to 49-54 hours/week, and assuming it's a 49 hour week, that's about $5.60/hr.

I'm a ****ing pussy, so I only have one job and it's part-time. I'm not allowed to work more than 20hrs/week for work study anyway.

What I make that does not go right back to the university in the form of textbooks, additional fees, and materials, goes to rent, food, and bills and not particularly good money management.

Well, I have to agree. He is probably the best candidate out there. He would not be controlled by the big corporations, and we might could finally get something done.

I agree with him on just about every issue except abortion, and he wouldn't be able to affect this anyway.

Unfortunately, the corporations, lobbies, etc control politics, and they are not about to let something like Ron Paul happen. They own the other candidates. Unfortunately, this is the way it works.

The corporations and lobbies control Obama? Evidence? Last I checked, he was making his entire campaign based on NOT taking donations from corporations and the lobbyists.

"Free"???

They do not teach economics at this school?

They do that. In fact, my university is mildly famous for teach Economics and Business Administration, being located in not only the financial capital of continental Europe, but also the location of the ECB.

What´s more, I am studying economics, which is why it is so painfully obvious to me that you have no clue about economics.

I am afraid that you do not understand American politics, particularly Illinois politics.

So, you have evidence that corporations and lobbyists "own" Obama?

Obama on Rezko deal

n June 2005, Obama and Rezko purchased adjoining parcels in Kenwood. The state's junior senator paid $1.65 million for a Georgian revival mansion, while Rezko paid $625,000 for the adjacent, undeveloped lot. Both closed on their properties on the same day.

Last January, aiming to increase the size of his sideyard, Obama paid Rezko $104,500 for a strip of his land.

The transaction occurred at a time when it was widely known Tony Rezko was under investigation by U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and as other Illinois politicians befriended by Rezko distanced themselves from him.

If you do the math here, this is a Half a MILLION dollar bribe.

I see no evidence that it was a "bribe", or that Obama is indeed going to be doing any kind of favors for the property.

Not very convinced.

Was that $104,500 for the WHOLE plot, or for part (presumably about 1/6) of the plot?

So, you have evidence that corporations and lobbyists "own" Obama?

They don't own him, but Obama has taken his share of money from them, like just about every other politician.
The idea that Obama is funding his campaign from "small contributions" is just PR and spin.
Obama might be the best choice this year, but I don't buy think he is as pure as the driven snow. No one comes out of Illnois politics clean.

I see. Then, if he paid $104,500 for 1/6th of what cost $625,000, I am shocked to find that Obama must have bribed Rezko with about $333.33 (1/6th of (($104,500*6)-$625,000)). Lock ´em up. Both of them.

Naive: deficient in worldly wisdom or informed judgment

If you can explain why he had a Trust buy the property and why he lied about his relationship with Rezko.

:gnome:

Let's put these goalposts back, shall we?

BTW: If you read the article you linked, Sen. Obama answers your questions for you.
