The only policy of Ron Paul's that I know of comes 1:30 into a video you posted. He says that fractional reserve banking should be illegal. And that is just ... i n s a n e.

It's called living beneath your means. Not living beyond your means. Besides where do you disagree with him on the ISSUES???

Yeah, he sure made us laugh in 2008.

Did he make you laugh or did his supporters make you laugh? There is a difference. How did he make you laugh?

I didn't know sound money, a balanced budget, a humble foreign policy and smaller government were funny things. Doesn't sound funny to me.

I should add. If you don't know anything about Ron Paul and where he stands on the issues, Then you should stop criticizing him and SHUT THE **** UP!!!

I'd take Ron Paul over Hillary, Obama or Mcain.

I agree with him on most issues but think (some of) his foreign policy ideas are a bit drastic.

Ron Paul doesn't have a hope in hell of winning. He might be the greatest political leader of all time but he isn't going to win. Further he isn't going to have any lasting impact on society. He is a side show, a non-issue.

Most importantly, Ron Paul is just a man. We need to stop idolizing humans. Even if he was elected he wouldn't be a dictator and couldn't rule by fiat. He would still be limited in the reforms that he could enact. He would still need to work with congress and deal with all of their egos and special interests.
  • Ron Paul couldn't be any kind of savior.
  • Ron Paul ISN'T going to be elected.

woohoo, I was the first person to vote yes. "Yes" was a little strong for me, but I thought it fit better than no.

It is interesting to me that Paul is such a continuous source of derision around here.

One of his themes, that the US has been led by a bunch of neocon nutjobs into an unnecessary war seems to be pretty much the standard view on that issue, so why such enmity towards Paul?

Some speculation:
1. Some people around here are uncomfortable with his libertarian economic ideas so that even if he's with them on the war they still are most comfortable with just dismissing him because of his economic ideas that they disagree with.

2. Some of his supporters are anti-semitic and some people around here think that the only possible reason he could be against the US policy toward Israel is that he is anti-semitic so some people have concluded he's anti-semitic and they make derisive comments about him for that.

3. Some people around here are uncomfortable with anybody that doesn't share their vision for the American military as a kind of super police force for the middle east so they just dismiss him for that.

4. Mostly the anti-Paul derision is just done to annoy ronpaulisright and doesn't actually reflect the views of the deriders.

5. Paul looks weird and it fun to make fun of somebody just for that reason.

Thank you!

They think they're being a "skeptic" by not being on my side.

It's Americas wealth!! What are you talking about?

Quite a number of countries and large bussiness organisations store gold in the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's vaults. The gold belongs to these countries and companies. Not the US gov.

Yes, I have been reached by Ron Paul and I accept him as my savior. I am now free of my sins, such as believing that the gold standard is incapable of supporting our economy and that fractional reserve banking is responsible for all our progress. I am guaranteed a place in heaven, where I can smoke as much crystal as I want and pay for it in gold!

Comparing Paul to MLK is either absolutely hilarious or a delusion so strong it borders on insanity.
