Yeah it's an interesting topic. This is nothing really new, we've known for a lonnnng time the GOP has been using voter suppression as a strategy. I haven't personally examined the stats, but if it's true that 2 million ballots were rejected for 'clerical reasons' and that they disproportionately targeted minorities/the young etc than that is pretty alarming. Of course, how does one determine if the 'targeting' was an intentional action? How do you show that Harris votes were rejected while Trump votes counted when the ballots had technical issues, like provisional ballots? Even if you can show that the numbers of rejected ballots were much higher in districts where Harris had an edge, does it prove anything, since correlation is not always causation?
It all just makes me a bit ill because personally I think in 2025 we ought to be able to come up with a voting system that doesn't easily lend itself to attacks by conspiracy theorists on any side. If *people* make the ultimate decision on who is eligible to vote--how do you ensure they are playing by the rules? Evidently investigations don't do anything, they just end up as fodder for Youtube videos.
