Happy Earth Day

Yet more anecdotal evidence to support my view that my fellow Québécois are the biggest bunch of bitchers and whiners on the face of the earth :)

What are your feelings on birthday parties and Christmas?

I don't celebrate my own birthday, because I think it's stupid, but I attend other people's birthdays, sure, and Christmas is a good traditional excuse to see all the family in one place.

As far as I know, nobody does anything special on "Earth Day", so might as well not have it. People should celebrate "Earth Day" everyday, by reducing their gas emissions, recycling as much as possible, and stop wasting, and to pressure their government to do the same.

Don't generalize based on me. I'm not a good sample, for one thing I don't drink beer. ;)

When you go to other people's birthday parties, do you remind them that the celebration is arbitrary and discuss all of the pain and suffering they will suffer for the remainder of their life?

Somebody tried to post pretty pictures on the forum. Didn't work out so well.

We should change Earth Day to Humanity Day, because the point isn't to save the Earth, she's remarkably resilient and doesn't need saving, the point is to save the habitat we evolved to survive in.
