Halloween is SUNDAY!

Fail. Making trick-or-treating on Saturday does not make Halloween on Saturday, so no holiday was moved.

So we can make Dec. 23rd "Present-Opening-Day" and Dec. 25th would still be Christmas. Should we move christmas dinner to Dec.26th and call it the "Family-Feast-Day?" We might as well go to work on Christmas if all the celebrations have been moved to other days for convenience. It would still be Christmas though.

That's really weird. You used to go up to the door, the person would open it, and you would tell a joke. I assumed it was like that every where.
My mom (in her '70s now) remembers Halloween as "guess or give." If the person at the door couldn't guess who you were, then they had to give a piece of candy.

I suspect local/regional traditions over time gave way to a more homogeneous "trick-or-treat" in which every kid gets candy merely for standing there in costume. I'm in my '40s and I don't remember ever having to do anything to get candy.

That's odd. The radio people had an interview with a local guy who owned a fireworks store. It didn't sound like it was banned.
Bans are placed at the municipal level. It's banned in my town, and (I think) the next one over. I'm sure it's not banned in a lot of other ones.

We had 2 kids. sheesh. Both very young and very cute though. :)

It's after nine o'clock p.m. on the west coast.

Amateur Night is over.

Blessed Be!

And now it's over. :-(

No more scaring kids (legally anyway), no more women wearing skimpy costumes, no more are there nothing but old scary movies on television, no more Halloween stores with special effects.

This is the saddest time of the year. :(
