Halloween Conspiracies

Well, it does seem like Halloween is regarded by many females as an occasion to wear slutty costumes (nurse or otherwise). Most likely this is due to a conspiracy by Bad People to corrupt our morals.

Satan...obviously Satan...
Are you discounting the efforts of my favorites, women who like to dress up slutty?

Razor blades in apples, needles in candy, poison in candy, etc.
Wife was an XRay tech who hated Halloween because of those fears. She was a dedicated professional who didn't see that each film was Ka-Ching to the owners.

What about years where it lands on Tuesday? I think its a better idea to have it on friday. That way kids can go to school in costume on halloween and then go straight to trick or treating.

Some X-tians think its a satanic holiday and refuse to celebrate.

When I was a kid there was a panic regarding tampered candy. Even in my hometown of roughly 1500 people we were advised to not take any homemade treats and to have parent carefully check wrappers. Seriously we knew everybody but my parents were worried the avon lady was slipping razor blades into apples? That's more of a moral panic than a conspiracy. Maybe there was a conspiracy by big candy to keep people form handing out homemade treats?

I have been hearing stories about poisoned candy, razor blades in apples and the likesince I was a kid (I was born in 1955). I'm not sure there are any well documented cases of this sort of thing actually happening. If it has ever happened, it is rare enough that you might as well worry about getting hit by a meteorite.

You can't prove a negative of course but the evidence is that it never happened but rumors circulated for decades, popping up every few years mostly driven by local news outlets.

Actually, snopes posted an update. While poisoned candy is a myth, occasionally pins, needles, and/or razor blades have been found:

Short version: it's not an epidemic, and usually an ill-thought prank by a family member or friend...or a hoax. Snopes only lists one actual case of someone handing out candy with pins in it.

That's what THEY want you to think, sheeple!

That's it? I thought there was someone out there who'd believe that Voorhees is real and that the government was trying to cover-up his existence via all of his movies.

*puts on Tinfoil hat* Manhattan, what are you trying to hide!?!?!?!!111 :tinfoil

Voorhees? Myers.
