Gun rights - this should stir the nest.

Looks to be an extensive strawman/ad hominum based rant on insufficiently contrasting text and background colors. Wake me when someone bothers to support this mess.

Oh yes, Dr Sarah is a real peach. This is what she had to say after the white supremacist attacked a Jewish center in LA a decade ago:
If Amanda were my child, she'd hear the following: "Honey, there are some very bad people in the world. Some of these people hate people like us who are Jewish. They don't know what a special, wonderful, little girl you are. They don't understand that G-d loves you, and that we love you. We never thought that such a bad person would try to hurt you and your friends. But he did, and so grownups have to do some things to help you to stay safe.

"We love you, and we're not ever going to let anyone hurt you. So to make sure you're safe, Mommy's going to stay at school with you today. So is Lisa's mommy. You know that we keep guns at home so no bad guys can come in the house and hurt us. Well, Mommy's going to take that gun to school, and Lisa's mommy will take her gun to school. In fact, there will be mommies and daddies with guns at the school every day. And we're going to teach the teachers about guns too, so they can protect you against bad guys. And when the bad guys find out, they'll be too scared to come to your school.

Yeah, that's a brilliant idea.

you know, if the high school kids at Columbine all had guns, less people would have been killed.

:)

Actually, a very good one, but I digress - since no one at any school has been killed by a rogue person with a gun being able to kill or wound a lot of people because they had no defensive capability in the last ten or so years. Or any malls, stores, restaurants or such either!!!

Broads with guns... oh goody...

Well sure, with THAT picture.

A quick GIS of the terms with safe search off yields much more of an "OH GOODY!!

"

I don't know about the rest of us, but my my interest in guns is totally separate from any sexual connection. When I see the pics of scantily clad women with guns, I think "Owww, that's going to burn when the empty cases hit that bare skin".

Guns OR naked women. They just don't mix.

I do know one fellow that taught his girl friend to shoot though. After that he had to sleep with one eye open. (badum-bump)

Just out of curiosity (and I'm not intending to use this as an argument), I Googled "School Shooting Australia". Guess how many there have been?

One.

As far as I could determine with my very very tiny amount of research.

Are we all supposed to quit our jobs and put our lives on hold for 13 years to act as armed bodyguards for our children while they go to school every day?

Nah - five years, tops. After that, we'll just arm the 6th graders on up and be done with it. What could possibly go wrong?

No - that's why she mentioned training the teachers/admins and having those who chose (she didn't say that afaik but I do) to accept being armed.:)

Don't have the specifics at hand, but there was a case in the mid-90's where a school shoot-up was halted when a school admin saw a perp with a gun at his school, carefully got to his car in the parking lot , got his gun, went back and located the perp and suggested he put down his weapon. Crisis and deaths averted. Places where guns aren't allowed are chosen often for the reason that guns aren't allowed.

Only if "school" extends to university, which it doesn't. So the result would have been none.

Anyway, can anyone tell me what the point is of yet another gun thread?
