While I start to think this is the worst election ever, I actually wonder
more about if Sarah Palin will now start to ask who that chap Sarah Palin
REALLY!!!! is. And what her "Friends" are.

Thank you for posting this. Geebus! 263 pages! I think the 9/11 commission report was shorter.

I think it's time to start a pool. I'm going to say that Obama will win by... a hundred and fifteen electoral votes. Wait. Make that a hundred and fifty. Yeah. That's my final answer.

I have a different pool - is the reason for the finding:

a. Damn liberal media
b. Damn liberal state investigators
c. Vendetta/jealousy against Palin for her success
d. All of the above

Edit - I expect this will have no affect on her supporters on this board or those in the real world who already support her. It may affect those that are on the fence.

So what, she got someone fired, at least she isn't "palling" around with a domestic terrorist

Yeah, when worst comes to worst fall back on the angry and over-whelming liberal elite CT.

I just read the pdf report that's online. The recommendations for action by the legislature (starting at page 78) amount to amending a few laws to change how medical records are released and to make the complaints process more transparent.

That's some real heady stuff. Probably a hanging offense.

Hoping for change and other whatnot.

This is front page news now.

Panel Finds Palin Abused Authority in Firing State Official

Panel Finds Palin Abused Authority in Firing State Official
By MITCHELL L. BLUMENTHAL and JACK HEALY
A legislative committee investigating Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, the Republican vice presidential candidate, issued a report Friday night that found she unlawfully abused her authority by firing the state’s public safety commissioner.

While the report concluded that a family grudge was not the only reason for dismissing the commissioner, Walter Monegan, it said it was probably a contributing factor.

“Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda, to wit: To get Trooper Michael Wooten fired,” said the report, which was issued in Anchorage.

Mr. Monegan has insisted that he was dismissed as retribution for resisting pressure to fire Trooper Wooten, who was involved in a bitter divorce with the governor’s sister. Ms. Palin said Mr. Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute.

The report, which was commissioned and released by a bipartisan state legislative panel made up of 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats, said: “The evidence supports the conclusion that Governor Palin, at the least, engaged in ‘official action’ by her inaction if not her active participation or assistance to her husband in attempting to get Troooper Wooten fired [and there is evidence of her active participation].”

I think that Mike Wooten (and Monegan) is the real victim here. Todd Palin is a sociopath.

This story explains how the Palins constantly harassed Wooten's boss to make his life miserable.

Wooten was guilty of some very small misdemeanors for which he was punished appropriately, but the Palins had a personal vendetta against him and wanted more severe punishments even though he had already been punished enough. Wooten is not the terrible person that the Palins have tried to paint him as. For example, he volunteered to work with children.

Yeah that's doesn't seem like much... Wonder why Palin lied about her not abusing power?

I hope the Obama campaign stays quiet about this. They really don't need to make an effort to capitalize on this, and they can take the high road by letting the public make up their own mind about it. It's not like they need the help.

This is dumb. I'm sure the people of Alaska are relieved to know that this was time and money well spent.

Another Nail In the Coffin...though the way the McCain Campaign is getting bad news there might not be room for many more nails.....

This doesn't bother you, then?

Do you support public officials using the power of their office to promote personal agendas? How do you feel about starting a war because a dictator tried to knock off your dad?

Yeah. .it's not like she was pointing to her governorship of the 47th smallest state (by population) as her vast executive experience or anything.

It's not like someone a heartbeat away from being the President of the United States is someone who might be tempted to abuse power for a petty personal cause. . . .

Yeah, who cares about abuse of power, anyways?

If the last eight years have taught us anything, it's that there can never be enough of that stuff!
