Guess what Nigel Farage is forcing me to do?

My guess is that having the SNP in a coalition is the surest route back to a second try at bringing the world to its knees through fat cat bankers swindling and fleecing ordinary folk. After all the two banks that nearly brought about armageddon last time, and caused the deficit, the slump in real living wages, and (actually) death and taxes also, were both from Scotland weren't they.

From Scotland, yes. Scottish Banks. They originated in Scotland, yes. That's where the evil ones are! Scots, and the SNP did it. Not Gordie Broon of course.

I wonder what evils the Airdrie Savings Bank got itself up to?

If you want to let the bankers run amok and cut public spending, then I think Farage is the boy for you!........

Why would I want to let the bankers run amok? I have never even hinted at such a thing. I do want to cut public spending, though, but have yet to see an intelligible economic policy statement from UKIP. Oh, and you might have missed the whole point of the thread..........I will be using my paltry little vote to do my part in denying UKIP a future.

From the Guardian
European plans to cut carbon emissions could starve plants, Stuart Agnew, an MEP for the UK Independence Party warned his European colleagues on Wednesday.

“Are you aware that if you succeed in decarbonising Europe, our crops will have no natural gas to grow from,” he asked the presiding chair.

“We have to have carbon dioxide. This is madness. Absolute madness what you are suggestion. Our agriculture industry is going to suffer heavily if we attempt to bury carbon dioxide. It is absolutely mad.”

The attack was the latest from UKIP on EU-wide plans to tackle climate change by cutting greenhouse gas emissions, which scientists say are the primary driver for rising global temperatures.
They really are quite a bunch!

More on Farage in the Guardian. Now he wants state education and healthcare withdrawn from immigrants for five years after they enter the UK. Voting against UKIP sounds like a really good idea.

I understand that some countries require immigrants to have private insurance to cover healthcare for a certain period after they arrive. Others, such as Australia and New Zealand have stringent health checks carried out on applicants to prevent them becoming a burden on the health system. Friends of mine have just been denied permanent entry to Oz because of recent breast cancer, for instance. There is certainly a case for considering some sort of scheme along those lines in the UK, in my view. I'm not saying there is any great need, because I don't know.

Withhold education? Yeah, righto Nigel. Great thinking....

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in this case, though. That looks like a mickey-take to me.
I don't think it is. Agnew is UKIP agriculture spokesman in the EU Parliament. He was quoted in these terms in the Jewish Chronicle! February 3, 2015
MEP Stuart Agnew ... has claimed that the party’s ban on non-stun slaughter, announced today, was against his wishes. (He said) “We are a democratic party and I couldn’t get enough support. They didn’t like my tolerance of non-stunning.
“They have decided to override me on this occasion. I’m not going to say they were wrong.”
But Mr Agnew said the policy was not meant to target shechita.
“This isn’t aimed at you – it’s aimed elsewhere – it’s aimed at others.
“You’ve been caught in the crossfire; collateral damage. You know what I mean.”
Yes, we know exactly what you mean Stuart, but is it smart to say things like that, eh?

I will be voting Conservative tactically for the first time in our constituency. This is for exactly the same reason as in the OP. I want UKIP to lose the two defected Tory seats they already have and begin their decline to obscurity as rapidly as possible.

If the SNP is in favour of fat cat bankers, the affection is not requited. Herald, 15 March.
Revealed: Civil servant who issued RBS leak email links with Better Together. THE Treasury civil servant who issued an email leaking sensitive information about Royal Bank of Scotland's plans to leave the country in the event of a yes vote had links to the head of Better Together campaign, it can be revealed.
If you want to get really chummy with banks, I suggest you give Blair or Brown a call.

Am I then alone or in the minority of those working in the public sector who have had, effectively, a pay cut every year for the last three?

It's not just the public sector where pay rises have not kept pace with inflation.

You do know the public sector has been on a pay freeze? You can't have rises that do not keep pace with inflation if there's no pay rises to begin with.*

* I do recognise that some private sector workers haven't been getting pay rises, either, but as a whole they're not covered by the same blanket freeze.
