That's exactly how I live now.
Whatever I get, I got it myself.
Whatever I lose, I lost it myself.

My life is guilt-free, I still behave morally just as I did as a Christian, and I no longer am near-suicidally depressed, nor do I wonder what I did that made "God" hate me. As soon as I took responsibility for my life, I felt totally renewed and have been happier than I've ever been. The only one to blame or credit for my life is me.

And it feels great.
