God is on his side!

Did it occur to any of the believers that God's name is not "God," and that we call it "God" only to avoid using its real name? So it doesn't make a lot of sense that it would put the word "God" on the side of an alligator as a display of divine power.

It just means we don't know which god put it there. I'm going to bet it was Bacchus. He had a few drinks and thought it would be a good idea. It would also explain why the owner first saw it while he was drinking.
