It's why artificially reducing sunlight via aerosols has been discussed for decades - it makes a lot of sense as a temporary measure until greenhouse gases production is under control.
The only serious argument against it is that it might lead to complacency and slow the transformation.

The Humber region in the UK is planning to build a carbon capture system, to capture emissions sites including but not limited to :
Drax biomass
Keadby gas power station,
Various chemical plants
The Humber region is the biggest source of industrial co2 in the UK, so if it's worthwhile, it will be here. Pumping carbon into spent gas fields under the north sea, it is also geological suitable.
In conjunction with hydrogen production, and a rather large offshore wind farm or two, it's exciting times around here.

Canadian politicians write down the biggest numbers on pieces of paper, give the floweriest speeches, and send the largest delegations to COP and now they're allowing those nifty Chinese EVs into the country, just to piss off America.

It really comes down to those alt-right rural working stiffs preferring jobs and money over lofty ideals.
