Seriously, what a prick:

Glenn Beck's sobbing secrets revealed:
A little Vicks Vaporub gets the tears flowing

This was too funny to pass up. We've known all along that Glenn Beck is a two-bit phony. Now we see how Glenn Beck gets himself properly weepy for the cameras: A little Vicks Vaporub. One might dismiss this as merely a one-off for this shoot. But you can hear Beck himself say:
Beck: I think it's getting used to it -- my eyes are getting used to it.
The whole scene reminds us that Beck practices his schtick over and over before he performs. Which means he's gotten real good at working up those tears and choking up to say, "I love my country -- but I fear for it!"

It's just a photoshoot, nothing special. I'm sure alot of actors do the same.

I can't really tell what the context is here. Sure, he may be using this kind of preparation to help him cry on tv, but this video only shows some unexplained photo shoot.

It was for an article on him for GQ magazine.

Still, its just a posed picture. If we could catch the same prep during one of his tv rants, then I'd be impressed. Or disgusted. Probably both.

Don't Glenn Beck's factual errors and melodramatic presentations provide enough ammo without having to make crap up?

There's no reason to think he does such a thing on TV. As we see in the video, the effect is not instantaneous, he has to sit there and wait for his eyes to itch, I doubt he could do that on live television.

I don't think his show is live, but yeah, this doesn't show anything other than his willingness to capitalize on his own jack-assery in what, I assume, are publicity shots.

Which is about as shocking a revelation as....

Actually, I can't think of anything that not shocking.

Glenn (I cry in my beer) Beck...

He's an (allegedly) AA member, pretending to be a Mormon...and just can't get
enough cash from fox to stop...I kinda envy his shtick...

Sure he's a pretender, but so are most American "country artists" that sell their crap to 'jesus' followers...(think Jewel)

It's a good job, if you can live with it. ;)

Mhmm, either he has a lot of crybaby photo shootings, they used Vicks a lot of times during that single shooting - or he is indeed referring to using that stuff a lot in his show to impress his equally-deluded minions with his periodical ... settle down ... "tears of patriotism". :boggled:

That is, ironically, the saddest thing I've ever seen. A guy doing a photo shoot of himself, in tears.

LOL, best debate ever.

"Glenn Beck is a fake crybaby."
"No way, he's a real crybaby."
"Uh... ok."

I think this is terrific. Whether it's just for the shoot or he does it daily, the important point is that he's so known for his teary-eyed schtick that the writers of the article wanted a shot of him crying. It's pretty cool when the two competing spokesdouches for the right are both becoming parodies of themselves.

Using the Vicks is probably going to come in handy when the 1990 rape and murder case makes it to trial - demonstrating some remorse for what he did might help him avoid the needle.

Of course it might just be that he didn't do it - even still - a lot of people are asking questions.
