A quick heads up as I've just noticed that tonight (3/12/07) on ITV2 at 9pm there's this gem.

A bunch of obviously eminently qualified Radio 1 DJ's on the ghostly trail around a Napoleonic fortress and Eastbury Manor. Apparently it's gonna include a seance.

Should be worth a hollow laugh.

Doesn't suprise me even a little bit, Radio 2s Steve Wright has a daily arse-trologer (my nickname for them), Johnny Walker is a great believer in all forms of woo & then there's Russel Brand - who may be woo incarnate. ;)

As expected it was terrible.

Yvette Fielding telling four dopey DJ's what to expect and some idiot "medium" cranking up the stupidity by refusing to go in the really haunted rooms.

Two incredibly bad seances with not a mention of ideo-motor response.

50 minutes in I couldn't take any more and turned over to watch "The Descent" - a quality horror movie vastly more impressive and ten times as believable.

P.S. If any spook show producers ever read this, I will happily volunteer to spend an entire weekend alone in a "haunted" location. Not just the 5 minutes these twits could manage before freaking themselves out...

This was a sequel to last year's "ghosthunting" show featuring Girls Aloud, right? That was a great one. I've often wanted to hurl pebbles at Girls Aloud (amongst other things I'd like to do to them), and was rather jealous of whichever member of the production team got to stand in the shadows and do just that.

Yvette Fielding is hilarious. The best thing about the "Most Haunted" presenters was always the way they'd stand around pretending to marvel at the spectacular staged stuff (flying objects, strange voices, demonic possession etc), but would run like hell with expressions of genuine terror as soon as anything happened which they hadn't planned in advance, like a slight fall of dust or a cat miaowing outside.
