Getting rid of Pentagrams

My grandson recently bought this large lovely old house in Lima, Ohio. He is in the process of restoring it and just found 2 pentagrams "etched" in the floors of two of the rooms, one directly above the other. We would like some information on these if anyone knows anything about this kind of thing. He had already noticed some "funny" things happening in the house, but was managing to cope with those.

Why bother? They're a feature. A stupid feature, but a feature. Breaks the ice at parties.

Anything etched into a floor can only be removed by removing the floor.

I wonder why he - or the surveyor / realtor failed to notice these before.

As for " funny" things going on, well it's a new house to him- he has to acquire new habits, like not leaving his keys in the hall, because there is no hall. He has to get used to the noises it makes at night. Stuff like that.

There are no demons. There are no spooks. The pentagrams, if that's what they are, merely reflect the IQ of a previous owner. It's not infectious.

I would suggest calming down. Symbols, no matter which, only have as much power as one gives them.

What is probably happening is your grandson subconsciouly connecting the pentagram with "something weird is going to happen" and then unconsciously started taking more stock of his surroundings, attributing small, normal things which he wouldn't have noticed before to the pentagrams. This in turn reeinforces his unease which again feeds his awarness and so the circle continues.
ETA: What was I thinking: I meant: It's a case of selffulfilling prophecy and not supernatural.

besides, tell your grandson that the pentagram was originally a symbol of good luck and prosperity, no matter which point turned up.

The more modern assumption of evil is "bad press".

Funny things? Are stand-up comics putting on shows at his house? Is it getting nocturnal visits from clowns?

If the pentagrams really bother him, all he needs to do is put tile or carpet over them or buf them out with a sander (I am assuming we are talking hardood floors here) and refinish the floor, or something along those lines. Not much else to say on the topic, really.

Refinish the floor. It'll buff out. Just be careful with the floor sander/grinder-thingie to not let it groove in too much. You can shave off the top 1/8" or so, restain and apply polyeurothane (sp?) and it'll look good as new.

The "weird happenings" have been going on since he moved in several months ago. And, yes, other people have witnessed them. It is discouraging to not be able to eat with metal forks and spoons because they bend on the way to your mouth and drop your food.

He just discovered the pentagrams when he removed the carpeting from these rooms. Bannister Mall in Kansas City was built on the site of an old house that had one in the floor. There are some strange stories regarding that, even though the house was torn down and hauled away.

Will they really buff out? Yes the floors are hardwood and these appear to be burned in. I know these things sometimes cannot be painted over, they just reappear over the paint.

Maybe you should research the previous owners of the house. I suspect Uri Geller once lived there.

If the forks and spoons are bending on the way to his mouth, then there are a number of possibilities.

These may be very, very cheap forks, and he should buy some new ones.

There may be some trickery going on. That is, someone is bending forks on the sly, and lying about it. It's impossible to guess who might be doing this and why without more information.

The third possibility is that something supernatural is bending the forks. This is very unlikely, but if it's true, your grandson is eligible for a million dollar prize. To win the prize, the bending needs to be observed by someone trained to look for the various sneaky ways that people bend forks and spoons. If there is trickery, the observer will reveal it, and then your family has to move on from there.

If the observer cannot explain what is going on, then your family gets a million bucks. (There are a number of steps you need to go through, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.)

If pentagrams reappear when someone buffs them out, then either someone in the house is putting them back, or you have another chance to get a million dollars. This one is harder though, because you have to find some way to assure that no one is secretly putting the marks back.

Skeptic Advice #2: Tell your family to stop trying to impress each other. Tell them the novelty has worn off...unless you're still entertained by cheap tricks.

Sorry Folks. This is not a joke. We had hoped for some practical answers (thanks to those who suggested some), but maybe I should drop the whole thing on this forum. Yes, he knows about the million dollars, but is afraid to become too visable with these things. Several of our family members can do "uncommon" things, but we have to live in a "normal" society so have to downplay them in public.

Pachez, you need to understand that these are public forums, and some people do come on here and post inflammatory things, and a lot of other people reply to these things with sarcasm. I for one am willing to assume that you are sincere.

I have lots of other possible practical suggestions, but it does get difficult to talk about sensitive family matters here. I don't think you should drop the thread, but I do warn you that almost everyone here believes that someone is tricking you.

I don't know about you, but if I went onto a board affiliated with an organization run by a reknowned skpetic, and populated mainly by skeptics, that a claim such as yours would meet with some skepticism.

If you want people to just accept a wild claim like yours without evidence, there are plenty of paranormal boards where people will ooh and aah over your 'experience' without questioning it in the least. If "OMG!!!! SPOONZ R BENDING!!!!!1!!one!!" is the reaction you want, I suggest you find one of those boards. Here, you will be asked for evidence.
