How are messages sent to all the councillors, MPs etc.?

Most messages are sent directly to representatives' official email addresses. However, many more are faxed. Furthermore, we may fax messages to representatives who do not appear to be actively checking their email. Many representatives have paper-based filing systems, and find it much easier to deal with faxed messages than emails.

The 90 lashes have nothing to do with being raped. Read the article.

Even just the title:
"Saudi Kidnap, Rape Victim Faces Lashing for 'Crime' of Being Alone With Man Not Related to Her"

She is not being punished for being raped.

She is being punished for being alone with an unrelated man. (Not one of those accused of raping her, as far as I can tell). A daft and stupid law. But she is not being punished for being raped.

Guess my title is a bit misleading. But I was thinking more about the results then the facts when I made up the title.

Besides, who would believe anyone would get 90 lashes for riding in a car? ;)

Things have gotten worse for this lady, now.

An appeal court in Saudi Arabia has doubled the number of lashes and added a jail sentence as punishment for a woman who was gang-raped.

The victim was initially punished for violating laws on segregation of the sexes - she was in an unrelated man's car at the time of the attack.

When she appealed, the judges said she had been attempting to use the media to influence them.

The attackers' sentences - originally of up to five years - were doubled.

So she's getting extra punishment for telling the world and asking for help. And:

The victim's lawyer was suspended from the case, has had his licence to work confiscated, and faces a disciplinary session.
