Generic Fiorina Thread

That's because sociopaths tend to rise up through the ranks of business etc.

The video in question seems to be this one (watch from 5:20 to 6:30 or so):

The witness being interviewed didn't say "we have to keep it alive to harvest the brain" but did say that the person in charge said that "this fetus is intact enough that we can procure a lot from it. We're going to procure the brain."

Of course I agree that the video is misleading. The fetus was obviously not the same one that the witness is talking about, nor did it even remotely look the same. Nor is it even clear that she is talking about what happened at Planned Parenthood. But my point is that Fiorina watched the video, and she was talking, probably sincerely, about the emotions they stirred in her. She got enough right about the video that I would argue she didn't even confabulate, let alone lie. Whether or not the video itself is a lie is a whole other issue.
It's not just misleading, it's a complete fabrication.

That video is nothing but a technician claiming this is what happens interspersed with the image of a fetus that looks to be late first trimester or very early second. I don't believe for a minute anyone is slicing up not yet dead fetuses. That's bull. Not to mention you don't just tell an inexperienced tech to start recovering tissue. And a fetus that size, to recover brain tissue you'd saw the cranium open, not cut through the face.

Where on that video does the lying technician claim they needed to recover the tissue from a live fetus as Fiorini claims? It makes zero sense clinically.

I'm calling that whole video one big fat hoax.

Do not worry about a thing 'sunmaster14'!

After the undefeatable Fiorina wins the General election after the defeatable Fiorina looses all those Primary elections, then you will be able to say "Neener, Neener, Neener!" to all of those nabobs.

It's "loses" not "looses". Your bad spelling completely changed the meaning. And you still don't seem to understand the "if ... then" construction in logic. Perhaps we should have a FAQ.

OK, let me get this straight, Fiorina couldn't win a Senate election. All the Democrats have to do is replay the ads Boxer used.

She's told lies to gain the support of the more extreme pro-life crowd. The attacks on Planned Parenthood have a serious problem. Much as the far right wing loves to chant death to PP, the middle and right of the country don't feel that faux outrage. An awful lot of us got our birth control at PP as teens and young adults. The only people that believe they sell baby parts for profit are very ignorant and fortunately, even most low information voters don't reach that level of stupidity.

Fiorina is a flash in the pan. Yep, I think that sums it up quite nicely.

Fine, we can excuse her for what she said at the debate.

However, she has since been informed that the PP video does not contain what she claimed, but she persists with the BS. So now, she is lying.

sunmaster14,

You seemed to forgotten to address this excellent point, I look forward to reading your response.

I should add, not only is the attack on PP a pig in a poke, the public has little patience for shutting down the government over these right wing causes, especially this one.

Poll: Public wants to avoid shutdown over Planned Parenthood

Despite Constant Debate, Americans' Abortion Opinions Rarely Change
Abortion isn't like that. Strong majorities have consistently opposed overturning Roe since 1989, today by nearly 2 to 1.

Fiorina and Cruz may get a lot of attention for their antics, but in the end, it's not going to get them any wins.

Indeed!

An FAQ is needed almost a badly as Fiorina needs a political miracle.

Fiorina is part of the Republican establishment--not an outsider. Once she gives her big foreign policy speech and then is endorsed by Bill Kristol, all will become clear.

sunmaster14,

You'd have to point me to exactly what her defense is. All I've seen her do is make the same argument I have. Sure, she's not forthcoming in conceding that the video is misleading, or may be, but her literal words at the debate had to do with the video itself, and the video itself does in fact show a fetus that is moving around while somebody recounts in gory detail her experience with procuring a brain from an intact, moving fetus.

There's a whole thread here somewhere about her video lies. She seems to have seen a video in which audio from a person claiming to have seen PP harvesting brains was combined with an unrelated video from an unknown source. And then doubled down, because she's never been wrong about anything in her whole life.

The latter is what I call "CEO syndrome", although it's far from limited to the business community. It's an inability to ever admit any mistake of any kind. GW Bush once held a spectacular press conference in which he was unable to think of any mistake he'd made in his entire life. Bill Clinton was almost as bad. The same phenomenon is common in high-up folks in the military, religion, and non-profits.

That's because sociopaths tend to rise up through the ranks of business etc.

Mentioning sociopaths in response to a post that points out that Fiorina, GW Bush, and Bill Clinton have one common trait does seem,at best, a bit over the top and, at worst, somewhat tin-foil hat.

Refusing to acknowledge mistakes is hardly evidence of sociopathy. That trait might simply be evidence of a gigantic ego - the kind of ego that is required to run for the presidency.

What type of evidence do you have that people who never admit mistakes

Even with all of this attention I think people are underestimating how evil she is.

Why do you think she's evil? That's a sincere question. I'm completely open to believing she's a sociopath. Personally, I was rather turned off by her little display of anger about the Planned Parenthood videos, but I figured it was just a bit of pre-planned political theater to grab some attention.

Anything you and I agree on is either totally wrong or more correct than most opioneering. I saw the same thing you did - a ratcheted up level of emotions when the subject came up, but it seemed forced. Like a character she was method acting.

So do you still say that Fiorina is unbeatable?
