General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Today's Gammon outrage

Starmer announced extended pub opening hours for the world cup, later closing and outdoor tv will be allowed.

Some comments

This is why he is the most hated Prime Minister ever.

The man is a serial dictator, cant wait for Rupert catching up with him, it will be glorious to see.

Who the hell does this man think he is?

He truly think he has been put in a place to dictate to us!!

WHEN DID PEOPLE START BELIEVING THAT POLITICIANS ARE OUR RULERS?

“Will allow” 🙄🤡

Oh Emperor @Keir_Starmer no one cares what you say.

Why do you allow Police handcuffing dying kids, Boats full of Immigrants,Two Tier Policing

I seem to remember the last pub you went into the landlord chucked you out and barred you.

God bless our dear leader Sir Keir for legalising football in pubs 🙏

I think the vast majority of this country have forgotten or never knew to begin with that the government are there to represent our interests not to rule over us and grant us basic rights. Their overstep these days is ridiculous

My local pub already has TVs in the garden for live sporting events, so what’s he actually “allowing”

He truly think he has been put in a place to dictate to us!!

We are grownups who deserve to be treated with respect not told what we can & can’t do.

Starmer thinks he is a KING!

More Gammon outrage.

Starmer mentioned women in his D-Day message

82 years ago, on the beaches of Normandy, brave British and Allied forces changed the course of history forever.

We must never forget the service and sacrifice of those courageous men and women.

Our debt to them can never be repaid

Some reactions

His ability to rewrite history is legendary.

I'm waiting for him to tell us the Battle of Britain was won by a squadron of muslim, non-binary vegans on flying carpets

Every single one of the brave service personnel taking part in the D-Day landings was male but not according to @Keir_Starmer

Surprised he didn’t give credit to the queers community as well!

Keir Starmer is pretending that women took part in the D-Day landings because he deems reality to be far, far outweighed by identity ideology.

Anything for votes he would include Trannys and Pakis if he could get away with it.

We call this Gamma Bias: including women in the good that men do to neutralise celebration of masculinity while excluding the much greater number of female perpetrators from the narrative on male harm

Its called stealing valor and is arrestable in most countries, this man has none.

women did not take part in the D Day landings and did not sacrifice their lives.

Julia Hartley-Brewer
@JuliaHB1
The brave heroes on that day were all MEN. No women took part in the D Day landings. So why do you pretend that they did? @Keir_Starmer

Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Nursing Service were ashore by the end of the day and setting up a field hospital.

Nurses were killed aboard a hospital ship that struck a mine. Sister Mollie Evershed and Sister Dorothy 'Anyta' Field. They stayed below decks and saved 75 wounded men after their ship hit a mine. Both became trapped and died.
They have a memorial at the beaches.

There were dozens of female SOE agents working with resistance groups in France. They could move around more more easily than men and attracted less suspicion. Many were executed.

Plus of course the many hundreds of thousands serving in Codebreaking & Intelligence, Communications & Mapping, Medical Care, driving, railways, manufacturing and supply.

Yeahbut, you can't expect gammons nor the likes of Hartley-Brewer to know any actual history, can you?

It might get in the way of all the mouth frothing...

So he didn't notice this appears to show them running away and fleeing into the sea? Also the only flag on show appears to be US.
You have it wrong! The Yanks are all walking backwards out of the raging surf, apparently having walked underwater from wherever they set out from because there are no boats in that direction.

I knew about the support workers back 'home' etc, but didn't know about the nurses landed with the troops, thanks for keeping the 'E' in ISF.

Many of the women in SOE were members of the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY), thirty-nine of the fifty women in SOE were free FANYs (FANYs not deployed to the ATS), thirteen of whom died in German prison camps. Well known FANYs attached to SOE include Odette Hallowes, Violette Szabo and Noor Inayat Khan.

The first British women to land in Normandy did so 6 weeks after D-day and were ATS nurses including an attached FANY ambulance unit.

ETA
If you meet the requirements you can join the FANY, it is voluntary, but remains closely associated with the military. Apart from first aid, driving, navigation and signals are core skills, they are trained by the army to use personal defence weapons, some are trained parachutists.

6 Days, not weeks.

The first British nurses to land on the Normandy beaches were Sister Iris ‘Fluffy’ Ogilvie and Sister Mary Gillies of the Princess Mary’s Royal Air Force Nursing Service. They arrived on Juno beach the night of 12 June. The next day, the mobile field hospital was set up and they worked with their male colleagues preparing more than 200 surgical cases requiring evacuation. They took it in turns to accompany men to the landing area where they handed their patients over to their Women’s Auxiliary Air Force nursing orderly colleagues who worked tirelessly crossing the channel in RAF Dakota aircraft caring for up to 21 stretcher cases at a time.

Nursing colleagues from the other services arrived from 16 June
