I saw a post on FB from someone I know trying to spread the lie that the Nazis were socialists, and that it's the Left that are extremists.
Tell us you don't know what socialism is without...

"We have given a message to the world."
Is the message "we're a bunch of small-minded racists"?
Well, it's miles from the Tube.I saw one of them being interviewed, she claimed no-one would be able to move because "even if we tried to give [their house] away no-one would take it",
.Cllr Andrew Southall
@cllr_andrew_s
Today I am announcing that I have parted company with Reform UK and joined Restore Britain. Thank you to @RupertLowe10 and the team for the warm welcome.
I will continue in my role as councillor for Wollaston and Stourbridge Town with exactly the same commitment to representing residents, dealing with casework and fighting our corner in Dudley Borough.
My involvement with Reform UK spanned several years, and I have not taken this decision lightly. I entered politics because I believe strongly in defending our national sovereignty, culture and individual liberties, while promoting entrepreneurialism, economic freedom and our national identity.
Those principles have not changed.
I have joined Restore Britain because I believe it now offers the clearest political home for those principles.
Over time, Reform UK has taken positions and changed direction on important issues in ways that I have found increasingly difficult to reconcile with the reasons I became involved in the movement in the first place. I respect that others will reach different conclusions, including friends and colleagues who remain in Reform.
For me, however, staying put simply because leaving might be difficult would have been the wrong thing to do.
What particularly attracts me to Restore Britain is its willingness to put substantial policy proposals behind its arguments. Its detailed policy documents set out what it believes needs to change, how it proposes to achieve it and the difficult decisions that will be required.
I would particularly encourage people to read The Wealth of Our Nation and the party's other policy documents and make up their own minds.
This move also means reuniting with people with whom I have previously campaigned and worked.
Although it is difficult to leave behind colleagues and party members whom I greatly admire, I hope we can continue working constructively together where our interests coincide.
Party politics should never prevent us from doing what is right for Dudley Borough.
Most importantly, I want to address the people of Wollaston and Stourbridge Town directly.
You elected me to represent you, and that responsibility remains paramount. Whether it is individual casework, supporting our communities, standing up for local businesses or challenging decisions that I believe are wrong, my commitment to the ward is not conditional upon the party name next to mine.
I know some residents will support this decision and others will disagree with it. I respect both.
What I can promise is that I will continue to exercise my own judgement, listen to the people I represent and work in the interests of Wollaston, Stourbridge and the wider borough.
I look forward to working with my new colleagues in Restore Britain and to the challenges ahead.
We have much to do to
@RestoreBritain

Anyone care to predict where his next defection will be to?
Pages behindIt's almost like this is all orchestrated in Russia, as who else benefits from that class of propaganda and lies?
Some may wonder how my previous post is relevant to anything other than my mother's eager faceplant into cosy facism, and my resistance to, and criticism/highlighting of that (which is largely based on the values that she instilled in me as a child).
That was all made clear in the previous version of that post that I managed to fat-fingeredly obliterate. That draft was good, I used the example of my Mother's political shift to illustrate some idea I had about shifting windows and the impermanence of experience, and such.
It was quite clever.
It may have been quite clever.
I thought it was quite clever at the time.
All of which is moot, because then i accidentally erased it, and now the fickle touch of inspiration has moved on, and I am far too sleepy and drunk and lazy to remake it.
So it goes.
I don't doubt it at all: you are, after all, an actual human (or as succesful a facsimile of such that there is no functional difference). Sometimes human brains do a weird fart.Been there, done that.
My brother reads the Mail, and some of his social media feed is levened with stuff that's at best, misinterpretation (and some disinformation - he repeated to me the Keir Starmer rumour that we now know was started by Russia for example). Some may wonder how my previous post is relevant to anything other than my mother's eager faceplant into cosy facism, and my resistance to, and criticism/highlighting of that (which is largely based on the values that she instilled in me as a child).

Reform not suspending former leader arrested on suspicion of assault, says chief whip.
A politician who quit as Reform UK's Wales leader after he was arrested for assault over the weekend will continue to represent the party in the Senedd, its chief whip Llŷr Powell has said.
Powell said Reform had not considered suspending the whip - which would effectively leave him as an independent MS - and said he "had a right" to be at the meeting.
