A democratic Egypt with a representative govt. will be a big threat to Hamas and will enbolden the people to rise against it.

Agreed. A big test of a government being actually democratic and representative is an election handing over power. Something Hamas did not alllow even the possibility of. Even with an election in Egypt and a stronger government in place, such a test would still be years off for Egypt. I do not expect a firestorm of democracy to sweep the Middle East this year any more than I did the year of the Iraqi invasion. There is a lot of the democratic infrastructure that does not exist in many of these countries to really fuel that. Perhaps I could be wrong though. 1432 AH could be the Middle East's 1989.

so, for the record, Islamoo-fascism does not allow democratic elections.

therefore, any nation that does have democratic elections, is not ruled by Islamoo-fascists.

If an Islamofascist thinks they can simply be voted into power rather than having go through an insurgency, they'll do it. At least the smart ones will.

Hamas has cracked down on merchants in the Gaza Strip, issuing new regulations that ban importing goods from Israel without prior permission from the Islamic group.

Hamas decided on the new policy this week after recording a drop in the demand for merchandise and supplies from the tunnels it controls along the Philadelphi Corridor between Gaza and Egypt.


that's right, now its Hamas that is keeping goods out of Gaza, not the Israelis.

Please clarify why your perceptions regarding the application of the US constitution are relevant to a story about the development of roads in third party nations.

Seriously. If you want more eucalypt trees, ask us here in Oz! We've got billions of them to spare...you can have one or two, even wholesale! ;)
 
Heck we'll even leave a couple of drop bears koalas in them and they can go out and defend the trees once they establish.

Careful though drop bears koalas are a tad dangerous if they start wielding AK's. Fortunately they can't aim for love or leaves because they're too bent on the eucalyptus oil...

Looks like a good result for the easing of restrictions by Israel.....
 
Of course they prefer the steyr, who wouldn't? But when in Rome the little bastards tend to do as the Romans do. (Which can be a little distressing when you start seeing them wielding samurai swords in Japan. But we're all just trying to forget about that horrible incident.) We're used to the occasional vertically dropping marsupial weilding an assault rifle. Dunno what the Palestinians and Israelis will think though.

Maybe a koala based government over there'd help things a bit. They don't take much nonsense, but sleep so much and look so (deceptively) cute that they're unlikely to start another entifada. Just wing the occasional yank tourist when they get bored.
