Any organization that brings up sexual orientation when it's not relevant is trash. Unless your group's objective is to help HBT people by:

• Finding them mates for sex, relationships or just friendship
• Supporting HBT rights
• Offering emotional, medical or informational support

then you can shut up about whether you like to **** men, boys, black people, the elderly, Jews, dogs or whatever tickles your fancy.

Looking at their website (which is terrible btw) i don't see how their "queerness" (don't use this word, ever) is in anyway relevant to their support for a "free-Palestine". I'm sure there are plenty of groups that are much more effective and noticeable in their struggle for either HBT rights or hating Israel.

What's next? "Interracial-Couples Struggle For a Free Tibet", or maybe "The International Dendrophiles Congress Against Imperialism"? Morons...

by that standard, no one can support any cause unless it affects them directly.

Not necessarily, but it is one thing for a Jew to support some cause that is not related to judaism. It's quite another thing for a Jew to join a group which openly wants the Jews dead or arrested just because they support the same non-Jewish cause.

Not anymore it doesn't. I'm game for tossing the term. As a for instance, locally we have a "Liberal" government. That's the name of the party, The Liberal Party ( of BC ) but...surprise, they're conservatives. Well they were up until a couple of months ago until the head guy resigned and it looks like they're trying to reinvent themselves by doing things like restoring the arts funding they chopped lat year.

But until the USA as a whole gives up the term, we're stuck with it and have to qualify it with terms like..."in the American sense of the word"

I seem to recall you arguing that Israel was not a liberal democracy. Now you've decided you don't know what liberal means. Like Skeptic said, it's obvious what the word means in this context. We don't need a stupid "what's a liberal?" argument.
