at York University in Toronto -- recently produced Vuvuzela. This
short video cleverly portrays the growing participation of
musicians in the cultural boycott of Israel as a contest of
soccer teams on the world stage. Simply producing and
distributing this video was a radical political act, as it
presents Israel as a state subject to the same type of
international pressure that challenged apartheid South Africa.

The efforts to repress and discredit the idea that Israel is a
state fitting the descriptor of ‘apartheid’ has been coordinated
and relentless, and it shows no sign of abetting. On February 16,
a new re-groupment of Zionist academics and professionals
convened at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Toronto. Dubbing
themselves Advocates for Civil Liberties (ACL), their founding
conference was titled "When Middle East Politics Invade Campus."
It featured speakers who deemed claims that Israel was an
apartheid state as symptomatic of "a jihad in the classroom."

just out of curiosity, why is a Socialist who supports a secular state in all of Palestine, a "moron"?

The Israeli occupation of the West Bank is indeed similar to South African Apartheid.

two populations, very different rights & rules.

Maybe you can tell us why socialists/Marxists hate Israel so much? That's something I've always been curious about. If I were a Marxist and wanted to push Marxist ideology, I wouldn't spend any time on the Israeli/Palestinian issue at all.

Technically, you can though. One side has pledged the extermination of the jews and has substantial historical ties to the German regime of the late 1930s -early 1940's.

Maybe you can tell us why socialists/Marxists hate Israel so much? That's something I've always been curious about. If I were a Marxist and wanted to push Marxist ideology, I wouldn't spend any time on the Israeli/Palestinian issue at all.

I heard the following explanation: according to Marx's view of history, Nation states were supposed to slowly disappear. Then Israel was formed. It contradicts the theory.

These days, there are many other examples. But the Marxist obsession with Israel is so developed facts are irrelevant by now.
