Yes and no. for me Cheney was not quite the hypocrite that Palin was. I never recall Cheney directly speaking out against gay marriage himself. He knew the political reality that in the Republican Party at that time and especially as Bush's running mate, he could not speak out in favor. I recall him remaining mostly silent on the issue, and when pressed giving an answer that was such a beautifully crafted hedge that I thought he was Edward Scissorhands.
