Gaddafi's death

mathaba.net has been quite puzzled about the whole affair. I commented on one of their stories to ask if, when Aisha Gaddafi pays her respects, they will accuse her of being paid off. This was swiftly answered with a block. Suffice to say they're not in a good mood. The leading theory among Gaddafi fanboys seems to be "some other guy in a latex mask." I wonder if I can get that mask for Halloween.

Well presumably Brother Muammar would be free to phone Al Jazeerah any time he wanted to, so a hypothetical paying of respects by Sister Aisha wouldn't add any greater level of proof, than his silence.

Anyway collected JREF sceptics will be relieved to know that Jamahiriya News Service (temporarily operating from a free Wordpress blog) have formally announced his death.

Dr. Moussa Ibrahim, last heard of being captured by the NTC on the outskirts of Sirte dressed as a woman, issued a statement
“Leader Muammar Al Gadaffi was seriously injured in Nato bombings and was being taken for treatment. Insurgents then seized him while traveling in a vehicle to Misrata. The leader died in that time in the hands of the insurgents of the NTC who shot him in the head and abdomen to pretend that they, and not the NATO bombs, had injured him.

Saif al Islam is alive, and is free.”

Is Brother Moussa in Sirte at all? He seems happy enough making phone calls in the middle of the conquered city.

Delusional Idiots Forum, predictably, has about 6 threads on this, and many people express the usual DIF dipstickery about zion, MSM, secret armies and "that doesn't look like him" kerfluffle.

Bullets to the face tend to alter facial features, somewhat :D

Was having an argument over at another messageboard. After doing some googling, this one has already been repeated quite a few times- not by anyone credible, of course, but it seems to be gaining momentum, either way.

Good old Russia Today...

My current position is that a lot of ME wars are driven by the need to combat test new military technologies.

"We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Muammar Gaddafi has been killed," Mahmoud Jibril, the de facto Libyan prime minister, told reporters on Thursday in Tripoli, the capital.

Asked what would be done with Gaddafi's body, he said: "It doesn't make any difference, as long as he disappears".

Jibril, was he the former Minister of Justice?

Gaddafi Wig: Libyan Dictator Was Wearing Hairpiece When He Died

Well, that's embarrassing.

Turns out, Muammar Gaddafi--deceased Libyan dictator and celebrated style icon--wore a toupee!

Gaddafi’s wig: A dictator undone by vanity?
By Melissa Bell

The long, strange tale of Moammar Gaddafi is at an end, after the former Libyan leader was shot and killed in his hometown of Sirte Thursday.

At the hospital, Libyan officials ran a number of tests, including on hair samples for DNA, to prove the identity of the dictator who had been on the run for the last two months. The hair was not Moammar Gaddafi’s. The slain leader was wearing a wig.

.....

At a hospital in Misurata, samples of Gaddafi's DNA, blood, hair and saliva were taken and analyzed to confirm the body was actually Gaddafi.

The hair “turned out to be a wig,” said the prime minister.

I love the New World Order. It's like living in a 24/7 sitcom.

The Washington Post reports that the former Libyan leader was wearing a wig when he was killed. According to the Post, the hairpiece was discovered by hospital officials when they tried to analyze a hair sample to confirm the body's identity.

So when the captors pull him around by his hair in the video, that's hair that isn't attached to him? Don't see how that works. Sounds like gossip to me, like Michael Jackson's nose going missing in the morgue.

Oh dear, Jamahiriya Press Agency (temporarily operating out of a free Wordpress blog), now seems undecided whether Gaddafi is dead or not.

After initially saying flatly he had not even been in Sirte in the first place, it then published some statements from former regime officials saying he was dead. Now they are they are publishing articles (without "official" endorsement) saying it was a look-vaguely-alike (but no word from the Brother Muammar himself)

I agree it sounds a bit unlikely, but this guy is the new prime minister or temporary prime minister of Libya, so his remarks should be taken a bit more seriously.

Possibly Libyans had not previously been aware of a rather large bald patch on the back of Brother Muammar's pate

So the ex-Minister of Justice felt a pressing need to reveal to his fellow countrymen the existence of a Gaddafi toupee?

I just thought I would throw it out there as a possible motivation for his claim.

So who all is on this supposed fake death? How was this planned and coordinated?

Is it a faked death? How should I know - I am not a one man intelligence agency. I was just suggesting why the ex-Justice Minister might have been saying Gaddafi wore a wig normally - as the fact he did say that is beyond dispute.

Apparently Gaddafi's death was predicted by an 80's sitcom

http://vigilantcitizen.com/latestnews/1980s-sitcom-predicted-year-of-gaddafis-death-video/

In 1987, an episode of Fox’s short-lived sitcom Second Chance correctly predicted the year in which Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi would die. The audience rips into applause as St. Peter damns him to hell. The scene takes place on July 29th 2011, which is only a few months off from Gaddafi’s actual date of death, October 19th. Either this is a strange coincidence or these sitcom writers knew something we didn’t…

But as with all things posted on that website, the VigilantCitizen, it turns out to be utter ******** and abuse of Occam's Razor. But I mean 83 days isn't that far apart in the cosmic blink of an eye, huh?

So?

Ronald Reagan and Saddam Hussein dyed their hair. Anyone with normal eyesight knew the 69 year old Gaddafi wore a wig/toupee.

That they might have accidentally analyzed his (most likely) human hair wig isn't any indication of anything other than the very messy state of his head at the time of death.

So one Sceptic says that anyone with normal eyesight knows that Gaddafi wore a toupee, another Sceptic says its an absurd urban legend. Would it be asking too much for Team Insanity to get together and present a united front here?

Toupee or no toupee, I don't mind either way, but which is it?

Anyway in other news other members of the Gaddafi regime previously announced as captured in Sirte seem to be on the southern border.

Meanwhile the last top figures of his ousted regime, Kadhafi's son Seif al-Islam and former intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi were poised to cross the border into Niger, a Tuareg official said.

Seif al-Islam was "near the Niger border, he hasn't entered Niger yet but he's close," a local official from the northern Niger Agadez region told AFP on condition of anonymity.

In June, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants against Kadhafi, Seif and Senussi for "crimes against humanity" allegedly committed by troops under their command as they quelled the uprising against his regime.

Pressure might be put on Niger to hand them over to the ICC, but in the short term at least, few would want to pressure Niger to return them to Libya. Moussa Ibrahim also appears to have found refuge.

There seems no real firm reason to believe that any of these three were anywhere near Sirte.

There certainly was a conspiracy of the leaders of western governments to remove Gaddafi from power, but it was sort of out in the open. Does it count as a conspiracy if the leaders talk about it in public?
