I am not so sure that alcohol is the thing to worry about in Russia. I have driven in Russia. I would worry mostly about the stone cold sober drivers more. It is really crazy. At first glance you might think that they have similar driving conditions to anywhere else..... Until you quickly figure out that all street signs and all stripes on the road are merely suggestions.:eek:

Never been to Russia, but I have driven in Istanbul, and I know the phenomenon of which you speak.

On the highway approaching the city, I'm in the leftmost lane (of 4). I see somebody approaching fast from behind. I signal right and move over so the guy can pass me. He does pass me - on the right.

Crazy bastards.

Of course you still refuse to actually accept the reality of the latest Russian bigotry, as condemned by WHO, the Council of Europe, the Kremlin rights council, Human Rights Watch, the Association of Advocates of Russia for Rights and many more.

Of course all these organisations are obviously wrong...
