Obama likely to escape campaign audit

All those untraceable one time use credit card donations to Obama have "paid off", if you know what I mean. That's definitely one of the spoils of victory - covering your tracks.

Hope and Change and Corruption. Same old.

Easy prediction - the goons that invaded Joe the Plumbers government records will get off scott free too. Rug - sweep - done. Now if he were a foreign terrorist we could get the ACLU to investigate his infringed rights. A republican sympathizer, fuggedabahteet.

I'm guessing that would be up to the justice department, which for the next 2 months is still run by a Bush appointee, isn't it? I think whoever leaked the information should be prosecuted, just like they went after those who leaked Valerie Plame's identity. How much jail time did that guy get?

Shockin'.

Mary Brandenberger, an FEC spokeswoman, declined to comment on the likelihood of an Obama audit. But she explained that if campaigns adequately answer the agency’s requests for information, it’s less likely they’ll be recommended for an audit.

Well that's got to be the most corrupt thing ever.

Be sure to wipe the drool off your keyboard. The ACLU has already voiced its support for Joe Wiezenbacawhateverhisnamewas.

kallsop, I wouldn't rely on Bill O'Reilly for your news. He just isn't trustworthy.

If the soopersekrit group of Communists that controls the Federal Election Committee and is trying to see that Obama gets to cheat, wanted this to fly under the radar, why wouldn't they just not audit him and say nothing? Why would they announce that they weren't auditing him?

Damned sloppy way to run a cabal, I'd say. You can't get good minions these days.

Sorry, I don't quite see how those credit cards can be untraceable ... say the ones used by "Pro, Doodad" and "Good, Will" to give the Obama campaign over $30,000 (and they actually appear to have been from the same individual or group). I'm sure if the FBI want's to identify who bought them, they probably could with the help of the Obama campaign. In my view, a good test for the honesty of the Obama administration will be whether the FBI locates and the DOJ prosecutes whoever was behind those donations.

Well, if there is something there I suggest that the FBI and DOJ get right on it. Last I checked these agencies were still headed by Bush appointees. If they start an investigation now it will be politically quite difficult for Obama to shut it down in January, don't you think?
