Merged Freemen and False Moral Equivalence

The really pathetic thing is that every time one calls a freeman guru on his grade school debate tactics the woo pitcher either changes the subject, or (in a newer tactic) simply ignores the issue and pretends he's just too smart, too busy or too good to reply.

It's no wonder so many freeman gurus are either in jail, in hiding, on the government dole or just plain discredited in their own subculture.

You must be joking. It's epidemic in the UK. Practically every self-entitled idiot in the country, when challenged for their invariably anti-social or illegal behaviour, adopts the pompous, hysterical ineptitude of the freemen even if they explicitly don't use the term.

I apologize if I mischaracterized the movement. I was thinking about Freemanism in Canada, which seems to be sliding into oblivion. If it is on the rise in the UK, then I didn't know it.

I don't live in Canada, but I used to pay attention to the Freeman movement there, just because it is titillating. I have paid some attention to it in the UK as well, but I suppose that I presumed its demise in Canada was mirrored in the UK. So, thanks for the correction.

To be sure, Arayder is speaking of the Canadian branch.

Well Canada is to freemanism as Springfield Massachusetts is to basketball (sports fans get it). But they shoot jump shots in France.

The point being the practice of using false moral equivalence has spread cross the globe.

I just wish it weren't so...

How freemen gurus support failure

After years of failure the brain trust of freemanary is reduced to trying to make themselves look viable by opining that freemanism is, at least, not as bad as corrupt politicians and bad cops. In a sort of "race to the bottom" freemen gurus use the very real failures of society to dismiss any expectation of a good, decent civilization. Ultimately, in a sort of twisted irony, freemen gurus excuse the careless and lawless behavior of freemen because it's not, they say, as bad as that of the embezzeling clerk or the abusive cop.

This hypocrisy ignores the freeman tenent to do no harm and seeks to excuse hurtful, dangerous behavior by citing what freemen see as a more dreadful acts by "the powers that be".

In this way freemen gurus support and defend their failed system, which has given so many of their gullible followers such awful outcomes.

tenant pays to live in a particular location, tenet is a rule/belief of a philosophy/belief system. I have reason to suspect you meant the second rather than the first.

Thanks, fuelair. Made the change. I'd like to blame it on spell chick (how do they get a girl in my computer?) but I think this one was user error.

Sometimes, freemen gurus imply that government actions somehow cause otherwise independent thinking freemen to act badly.

Sometimes we are given the childish excuse that the freeman’s scam, deceit or dangerous act is okay simply because this government, or that bank, did something bad too.

It's a moral race to the bottom.

So let me get this straight

The freeman brain trust, borrowing heavily from anarchs-libertarianism, rejects “compulsory” government in favor of individual self-governance.

Putting aside freemanary's guru self-contradictory, pandering claim he is for good, limited government let’s take a look at what freemen really say and do:

Freemen gurus routine sell useless legal advice, including model documents, and when they fail blame the courts when client after client is sent to ruin.

Markeith Loyd kills his pregnant girlfriend and cop and then claims he is, “Flesh and blood. I’m a human being. I’m not a fictitious person. . . Y’all can’t do nothing to me.”.

Eugene John Bourdon a convicted child sex abuser said his conviction should be overturned because absent his consent, the government "has no power to enforce its criminal laws against him".

Robert Menard sold Association of Canadian Consumer Purchases (ACCP) memberships promising members can use their ACCP cards to purchase thousands of dollars worth of goods every month.

When the ACCP goes nowhere Menard says nothing.

Edward Belanger claims a religious exemption from Canadian law. . .then appeals the loss of his government benefits.

It’s pretty clear that for many freemen a rejection of government and law isn’t about responsible self-governance, but rather a license to do as they please whether it be legal, lawful, or right.

I like shooting but shooting is too good for those ********, slow hanging by a noose but no drop would give them time to think on their wrongdoings!!!!!

One of my friends that is still otj described a seminar he attended as part of the continuing education program, put on by a Northern California county addressing FOLT/Sovereign citizen incidents.

The county involved is evidently encountering a bunch of these related to fake liens and other fraudulent instruments that they attempt to file.

No violence yet, but lot's of agita for deputies and county employees.

I'd prefer it be called "freemanury".

Markeith Loyd kills his pregnant girlfriend and cop and then claims he is, “Flesh and blood. I’m a human being. I’m not a fictitious person. . . Y’all can’t do nothing to me.”.

Pfft! Double negative.

Eugene John Bourdon a convicted child sex abuser said his conviction should be overturned because absent his consent, the government "has no power to enforce its criminal laws against him".

He probably learned how wrong he was.

The source of yellow fringery!!!!  :D
Man I love that argument, something like, "There's a yellow fringe on the flag therefor this isn't a real court nyah nyah nyah, I'm not listening!"

Yep, I'm a terrible proof reader of my own work.
