forgoton classics - Sci Fi movies

I suppose THX1138 is too well known to be considered forgotten - at least amongst film nuts, of which I'm pleased to note there are a number here.

But, I find that it's mostly "known" but not seen. Every film geek can recite its pedigree, but very few have ever watched it. And it did horrible box office. It was completely unknown at the time of its release.

A lot of the films mentioned in this thread are too well known to be forgotten.
In the talked about but never seen department, there are an incredible dumber of people who claim to be big fans of the Monster Movie genre, but have never seen King Kong or any of the Classic Universal Monster films. That is like saying you are a fan of English Drama but have not read any Shakespeare.

Fantastic Voyage was actually the first movie I remember watching. It was on TV when I was in kindergarten (and I know it was in kindergarten because I was watching it at a house I moved away from after that). I distinctly remember being told that the person getting off the plane and put into a car was a scientist.

"Is he a mad scientist?" I asked, since my only knowledge of scientists at that point came from Batfink's nemesis, Hugo Agogo (the mad scientist). Being answered in the negative, I decided he must be a happy scientist.

I just found the digitally remastered director's cut widescreen version for $5 at Fry's in Tempe, AZ.

Collector's Edition (two disk set and a copy of the script) of Monty Python and the Holy Grail for six bucks. yes, the dump bin is good.

I almost got the uber-kadoober 'Holy Grail' box last week-it comes with a frame from a print of the movie but I already have the two disc set, so I got 'Life of Brian' and a 1949 'Batman' serial...but if it's still there this week, I'll get it cuz the discs are getting ratty...
