Miller has won the GOP Senate Primary in Alaska; and he is pretty much on the same Wave Length as those two: Abolish Social Security, Global Warming is A Hoax; Shut down Most of the Federal Government, etc.
The difference is that whereas the other two might well not make it to DC, Miller is almost a sure fire win in Alaska.
What makes it ironic is how much money Alaska gets from the Feds; something tell me that Miller is going to hear plenty from his consitunets if he rally does try to carry out his rhetoric about "weaning" Alaska away from federal funds. Good luck with that.
He might end up being a huge headache for the GOP.
On the other hand ,Angle is trying to move to the political center, and already some Tea Partiers are accusing her of "Selling out".

This is the thing I just don't get about Alaska. They get more federal bucks because of the oil industry, or - to put it bluntly - they suck at the teat of the federal government more than any other state, yet here they are going hog wild about politicians (Quitter Palin and now Joe Miller) who parrot the line about "rampant government spending"?

How much do you want to bet that Joe Miller, after he gets elected, is going to try - very quietly - to keep bringing home the bacon to his constituents?

If he doesn't, bully for him for at least living up to his principles. But he won't win re-election in 2016.

ETA: Dudalb, do you have a link on that stuff about Angle's former TP supporters now calling her a sellout?

I heard a few callers when I was in Reno a couple of days ago say that on a talk radio show.
THere is no doubt that Angle is trying to moderate her opinions, and guaranteed that will annoy a few Tea Baggers.

Her footspeed when running away from reporters is pretty moderate.

Looking past her 40-yard dash time, I've never seen anything that wouldn't lead me to believe that she is not a teabagger nutjob of the highest magnitude. Of course, there are also teabaggers who think Bill O'Reilly is too liberal.

Hey they want to start ponying up and paying state taxes instead of getting paid by their state.

Here's a theory: people don't really just vote their own pocketbooks anymore. George Will suggested this in critiquing the "What's the matter with Kansas" book a few years ago. Alaskans like to think of themselves as frontiersmen and hardy individualists. So that's how they vote.

Apparently was a lot of internal GOP politics involved. Murkowski was not well liked for reasons that had little to do with her being more "moderate".
You might have a point, but I think in the back of their minds a lot of people who voted for Miller think that in the end, he will still bring back the pork. It is a sort of "talk the talk, but don't walk the walk" kind of thing.

Yeah, that's called hypocrisy. I sense an impending repeat of the Contract with America fiasco: a lot of high & fancy talk from the GOP/Tea Party about reigning in government spending, reducing the deficit, blah blah blah - but when push comes to shove they'll keep on bringing that pork home. And when they get power in the government, they'll spend baby spend.

What a crock

If they're so damn hardy, let's just yank all federal subsidies for the state of Alaska; see how long they last then - what a bunch of hypocrites

Scuse me Mr Rolly Eyes. What federal subsidies are you referring to?

Miller won the closed Republican primary by rallying the Tea Party / Palinista camps. Moderate Republicans just didn't show up for Murkowski.

The general election will pit Miller against that other party, and I suspect that some of the moderate Republicans who can't stomach Miller will cross over.

A wide open political office is to a lunatic, what a flame is to a moth. Like when Schwarzenegger, Huffington, Gary Coleman, etc. ran for governor of California ...

So they're delusional, in so far as they identify with the entrepreneurs who have made mega-bucks and, to their way of thinking, need to be rewarded for "creating wealth."
