Andersen Book Blows Ayers' Cover on 'Dreams'

Relying on inside sources, quite possibly Michelle Obama herself, Andersen describes how Dreams came to be published -- just as I had envisioned it in my articles on the authorship of Dreams. With the deadline pressing, Michelle recommended that Barack seek advice from "his friend and Hyde Park neighbor Bill Ayers."

To flesh out his family history, Obama had taped interviews with various family members. Andersen writes, "These oral histories, along with a partial manuscript and a truckload of notes, were given to Ayers." Andersen quotes a Hyde Park neighbor, "Everyone knew they were friends and that they worked on various projects together. It was no secret. Why would it be? People liked them both."

LOL. Christopher Andersen the "celebrity journalist"? The guy who has a fixation on the Kennedys?

I can't find anything on his new book yet, but let's take a look at one of his other books.

Christopher Andersen's biography Jackie After Jack: Portrait of the Lady is one steamy read. Andersen claims that Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis had affairs with Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, William Holden, Warren Beatty, Bobby Kennedy, and JFK's former deputy secretary of defense.

I fully expect his journalistic integrity and objectivity to be of similar quality when discussing the Obamas.

No, BAC, the fact that someone else has made the same claims you have is not evidence that said claims are correct. Especially when that someone else is known for making a living publishing unsubstantiated gossip.

In a new afterword to his 2001 book, Bill Ayers, former leader of the 1960s radical group Weather Underground, describes President-elect Barack Obama as a “family friend” and denies he wished his group had set off more bombs in the 1960s.

Ayers, a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, adds few new details about his relationship with Obama in the afterword to Fugitive Days: Memoirs of an Anti-War Activist. The book is being reissued this month.

“We had served together on the board of a foundation, knew one another as neighbors and family friends, held an initial fund-raiser at my house, where I’d made a small donation to his earliest political campaign,” he writes.

It’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up. In the midst of Barack Obama’s continuing insistence that William Ayers was just some guy in the neighborhood (and just some guy on two non-profit boards with whom Obama worked for almost a decade), people asked why Obama then gave Ayers a promotional blurb for his book, A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court. Team Obama spokesmen Bill Burton and Robert Gibbs categorically denied it.

Who cares if Obama knew Ayers? Was Ayers involved in any bombings in the last 30 years or had he settled down to a respectable lifestyle? Was Obama supposed to interview him and see if Ayers repented or not? Was he supposed to perform a background check on him? I don't get it. If Ayers is no longer active in his past criminal activities, what is wrong with knowing him and even being friends with him?

It is not as if Republicans have any problems with criminals - heck they even heap adulation on them. Look at Oliver North who has gone on to much success in the conservative talk circuit. Or Gordon Liddy who has done the same. Both convicted criminals.

Ayers won "citizen of the year" for his work on public schools. It appears he is a model citizen. Don't we believe in redemption or is your stance once someone transgresses that person shall forever be ostracized? Let's judge someone on their more recent accomplishments instead of acts performed decades ago.
