Sorry about making this anew thread but I cannot find the thread in which the video of firemen at a pay phone is discussed. Two FF are at a phone then turn when more arrive. A BOOM is heard in the background just before the two at the phone turn.

This video is being discussed on another forum and it seems to me that the version posted there is actually different than the one discussed here some time ago despite their being the same video(audio is different).

Any help would be appreciated.

I have always been very suspicious of that video. It wouldn't surprise me if the guy on the phone was reacting to the arrival of the other firemen. But until we see a video absent of sound its just speculation.

I have a truther friend who loves using this video as some sort of evidence. Not one of these guys says anything about the noise in the video and the two walking towards the phone don't turn to look what it is or where it came from. I wish the original footage could be found.

Even though its been discussed many times before...

1. Audio might not be genuine
2. This is a recording over 7 hours before the collapse of Building 7. What kind of explosives work that way?
3. How do we know the sound, if real, is from 7?
3. I thought they used nano thermite cuz its quiet LOLZ

It wasn't. The original 'explosion' (before it was pulled and re-upped in mono) was full stereo and I called shenanigans on it.

Even now, the 'explosion' has too much presence relative to the rest of the audio to be sync.

Shame we cant find the original footage, would love to finally put that to rest.

Investigoogling finds that this video was shot by a Lucia Davis, who has an IMDB entry and who at the time worked for a Boston alternative-media TV station. She shot several segments in the Church & Chambers area.

IMDB credits her for
1. 7 Days in September (2002) (field crew: Broadcast News Networks 9/11)
1. "MSNBC Investigates" .... Herself (1 episode, 2001)
- 24 Hours at Ground Zero (2001) TV episode .... Herself

I called the station a year ago and she was no longer associated with them. If someone has a "pro" IMDB account, it might be possible to get
a message to her to let her know that (IMO) her work a been co-opted for a lie.

Well Gumboot said ages ago (which I found through the 911myths page on this subject) that:

"I did a bit of research when it was first raised...

Apparently it appeared in a documentary called "9/11 Stories From The City" which was broadcast by Zone Reality TV in the UK. They told me they acquired the programme from a distributor called Camera Planet. Camera Planet did not respond to my inquiries.

So its Camera Planet we need to chase up surely? I cant imagine this film added any explosions but if they did would the producer admit it?

Thank you all.

My recollection did not include the one FF saying anything about the explosion and thus when the Daily Show forums come back online on July 1 I am going to have to claim 'my bad'.
:(

However I see that many doubt that the audio is all genuine due to lack of distortion in the 'explosion' sound and it is not at all clear that the FFs is saying 'seven', or 'something' or 'the second' and that this video occurs 6-7 hours before WTC 7 actually falls. Perhaps between WTC 2 and WTC 1 collapses or just after WTC 2 went down.

Nor is there any indication of exactly what has caused this sound. It could be a car that is on fire, exploding, or a propane tank.

Well, like I said initially, the 'explosion' was definitely in stereo (vs. mono for the sync [assuming its sync]) and (IIRC) the original upload was pulled within a couple of hours of my post and then re-upped with the 'explosion' centre-panned to mono-ise it without taking into account the clarity of the 'explosion' vs the obvious distortion of the voices.

Seems pretty clearly a put-up job on someone's part.

I do think the imagination they have to make the firemen say "seven is exploding" is amazing, it doesn't sound like that at all to me. They simply arent saying those words.

Quite right. There's two clear telling factors in the audio that indicate it has to be a fake.

1. The audio of the explosion is wide stereo but the audio of the rest of the video is mono or very narrow stereo. This means the two were recorded on different microphones. If it had been a genuine stereo field recording, you'd see the exact opposite - closer sounds would tend to exaggerate stereo while the further away a sound is the more it would register equally both on left and right, thus making it a narrower stereo sound.

And the more telling point:

2. The dialogue clips at a fairly low volume within a pretty moderate frequency range, indicative of severe peaking at the point of capture. In contrast, the explosion, in the same frequency range, greatly exceeds the dB levels of the dialogue, with no clipping whatsoever.

That sort of audio profile is impossible to capture on a single microphone in a field situation. If the voice peaked at X dB in X frequency range, every other sound MUST peak at the same dB level in the same frequency range.

The explosion was added.

I checked out cameraplanet and while they have a fair number of 911 videos they do not seem to have this one available.
Unless someone else knows where they 'hid' it?

The references to the audio peaking/limiting makes sense to me. I do of course have some experience with this though I usually deal with a single audio stream (broadcast TV tech)I do have some editing experience as well.
With a single mic or even with two closely spaced mics (as would be the case with ENG) if sounds are clipping then they will continue to clip until the gain is reduced and it would be ridiculous to expect even louder sounds to not do so.
