the op is about the threat of nuclear war.
does anyone care to address the topic, or do you prefer to continue to spew your nonsense?
Brilliant observation!
How about you start?

Who cares what some old dictator who once brought the world to the brink of nuclear war thinks?

I've never been to North Korea, but I can tell they're a horrible dictatorship.
That's rich, coming from a ruthless dictator who once brought the world to the brink of nuclear war.

Human rights organizations are not the American press. Whatever propaganda there may be against Cuba, there are also legitimate criticisms.the blind ignorance about the realities of life in cuba is amazing in a forum of supposed skeptics.
yet you buy the codswallop fed you by the american press.
I support nuclear disarmament and general demilitarization worldwide, so I agree with Castro on this. However, I would like an influential person like him to go beyond words to show his sincerity. He could start with Cuba.the op is about the threat of nuclear war.

...and overthrew a despotic, corrupt, american directed regime.
i did...i asked a question in my op.
your turn.
Perhaps I should. You can, of course, point me to some literature that refutes the notion that tens of thousands of nukes going off in a short period would not wipe out humanity.Perhaps you should read more.
"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss"
Well aside from being Soviet directed instead of American directed.
dude...have you been asleep for the last 20 years?
the soviet era has been over for decades.

As for the threat of a nuclear war on global scale started by USA or Israel by an attack against Iran, I don't think such an attack will happen, and if it does, I would not be as sure as Castro that it leads to a global conflict. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but I can't see why it would have to play out that way. So yes, perhaps he's a bit overly dramatic.

And Cuba has not mattered one whit on the international stage for, curiously enough, precisely the same amount of time.
and that is relevant to the op...how?
cuba and canada have a good trading relationship.
cubano cigars are readily available in canada.
And despite all of Hugo Chavez's bluster about destroying American imperialism, there are plenty of McDonald's restaurants in Venezuela. Would you then characterize Venezuela as having a "good trading relationship" with the United States?
