Fetzer in The Nation

lol...

Ron;

I simply don't like to polarize the conversations when we are all here for a common reason that supercedes political divide. The forum is to discuss and debate issues of the 9/11 CTs. There is a great political forum here for you and Perry, or whoever, to "put up your dukes and git to it!" so to speak.

Not to mention, given it doesnt interest me, it makes me have to scroll more...and remember, I am the most important part of this entire forum...lol

TAM;)

Well, except for me.:Banane42:

Thanks to all

Thanks very much for your replies to my OP. You've given me lots of new tools. (But I can always use more!)

I hope the Bill O'Reilly argument is over because it's definitely off-topic, but I have only myself to blame; I probably should have resisted getting my own digs in at that particular blowhard.

I've generally found The Nation to be trustworthy over the years so it was disappointing to see this stuff there. I should emphasize that all the 9/11 denial stuff was on the letters page, not in the magazine's own editorial content. And they can and should run letters critical of their articles. But I think they had some obligation to acquaint themselves with Fetzer's record, which might have given them pause before printing his long list of untruths with no annotation or rebuttal.

I'll make my views known to The Nation, and I encourage others to do the same. (Courteously, of course.) But I doubt they'll print anything further on either the credulous or debunking side. They probably feel they've done their duty on the subject and provided "balance." (You know, like "balancing" evolution and Intelligent Design.) Unfortunately I fear the net effect is to lend the CT side a completely unearned legitimacy.

TAM, I regret going off on a political tangent. Nobody's mind can be changed and all the wrangling leaves a bad aftertaste. Perry is on the right side of the 9/11 conspiracy issue and he has a sense of humor. He can't be all bad. I continue to insist that turning Bush into a comic book villain trivializes important issues and plays into the hands of the conspiracy loons.

Well, don't forget that the reason they posted Uncle Fetzer's letter is because they ran a very critical article about 9-11 Denial to begin with. I'm a center-right guy myself but I have been consistently impressed with what I consider to be fairly Leftist mags like the Nation, Counterpunch and Rolling Stone taking a good swipe at the Deniers.

See? Let that be a lesson. And of course Ron you know that I would just NEVER mention pollytix in this here conspiracy forum I mean how could I ever be persuaded to tuck in a few digs at Our Gallant Leader if the opportunity presented itself especially so soon after the levelling action exerted on our tricameral form of Federal government by the wondrous midterm elections on November 7th, 2006?

Not never, not no-how!
