I think Feng Shui is just fine in it's proper cultural context. In China, deviations from Feng Shui cause problems that aren't really related to Qi but to preference, taste and other cultural/religious sensitivities. If your building does not adhere to the school of Feng Shui you subscribe to, this causes discomfort and a sense of things being "out of place" so to speak.

IOW, it's about the cultural aesthetics, not really about Qi. Western Feng Shui has very little to do with traditional chinese Feng Shui because Westerners don't have all the cultural baggage that makes it so important.
