Becoming Beth
Consider that we have heard nothing about it yet. I think that that means something.
There has been speculation that he delivered a subpoena(s). But if so, wouldn't we know that by now?
There has been speculation that he was being fired from his FBI position. But if so, wouldn't we know that by now?
You mention that the visit was short and in person, and suggest this represents high significance. But it could be something like this: Comey had been trying to speak to someone in the WH but they weren't returning calls or emails so he decided to just show up at the door in person. Something that civilians may do when they get no response from someone. You just park yourself outside of their office and insist on having a word with them.
With each passing hour that has no press reporting on "Comey Sudden Visit Bombshell", it becomes more likely that there is no bombshell there.
I never said anything about a "bombshell" or even "high" significance. Keep your hyperbole to yourself when you're building straw men.
I haven't even commented on anyone's speculation, as you have.
All I said is that I don't think he'd just pop over to the White House for a casual, unscheduled visit, considering the current state of affairs.
If the Director of the FBI had gone to the White House to 'park himself in front of someone's door' because they were refusing to speak with him, don't you think that that in itself would constitute something significant?
Behaving like some boyfriend getting the cold shoulder isn't going to be normal behavior for a Director of the FBI.
No. He had some reason to diverge from normal channels and protocols. I have no idea what those reasons were this time, and I'm making no claims that it is some sort of bombshell. It's possible there was some completely innocuous explanation But to suggest that it is just normal behavior is keeping your head in the sand.
He made an effort to go there, unscheduled, in a very public fashion, and left the same way. That is almost a public statement in itself.
