Iran's hardline Revolutionary Guards have renewed the death sentence on British author Salman Rushdie issued 14 years ago by the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.


Iran attempts to live up to their 'Axis of Evil' rating. They were beign seriously out-done for a while there by Iraq and North Korea.

I wasn't sure whether this belonged in the Religion or the Politics forum.

I think it will take a little more than renewing a 14 year old death sentence against a man they haven't been able to get their hands on for them to keep up their "Axis of Evil" status. Can we see wome weapons of mass destruction here? A nuclear warhead maybe? Or at least some anthrax. Sigh.... the state of evil these days...

They probably would like to extend their decree to those who own or have read The Satanic Verses (guilty of both).
I wonder if my having read the Koran would mitigate anything.
