Fatal Decision (Jack Chick's latest)

The story is interestingly quirkly though.
Who do you think the woman who asks for the doctor's help is?
Where would God go to get help?
Would the accident have happened if the son was not there to distract his father?

Full cartoon.

Infected Man must be flown to the US for miracle treatment.

Doctor discovers impending plague.

Doctor spends his life savings in effort to save Infected Man.

Doctor loses his son in effort to save Infected Man.

Doctor complains about foreign-looking janitor's behavior.

Janitor gets pissed at doctor.

Janitor lies to Infected Man about Doctor.

Infected Man rejects Doctor's treatment.

Infected Man dies horrible death.

Chick Man says: "Believe a lie and go to hell".

....but....

Infected Man had no idea he was being lied to.

Infected Man didn't believe a lie about God.

....so....

What is Jack Chick saying here? That only Jack Chick can determine what will save you from Hell, regardless of the issue being a religious one or not.

Pure megalomania.

Moral: If a patient has euphoria, keep the unbelievably expensive medications out of his grasp. Aren't most meds kept in shatter-resistant plastic these days? It's a good metaphor for Jack Chick's religion. Born into a confusing world full of conflicting messages, a person must not only figure out that Christianity is right, but choose the right kind of Christianity among the many denominations, or else he'll burn forever. If you're stupid or mentally ill or are taught a different religion from birth, that's no excuse.

Not at all. The doctor was in a position of authority; he wears special clothes and has a special title. The janitor is in a position of low-status and no authority. Obviously one should take the doctor's word over the janitor's, because the doctor is an authority figure, just like one should never question a preacher.

Yeah. But Jack Chick puts himself above the authority of the doctor: While the doctor knows about the medical stuff, Chick is the one who knows about everything.

Listen to your doctor, sure. For medical stuff. But listen to Jack Chick for everything.

I think the most troubling part is that, when faced with the great cost of the medicine, the doctor goes on vacation.
Actually, that's a damned good analogy.

Well I guess that must make Chick happy. Considering his stance on Catholics. He might as well just have said that the vaccine was in San Marino, or France, or even a specific location like somewhere in Bavaria.

Too bad they didn't take him to Switzerland in the first place.

ETA, they don't have Fedex in Switzerland?

I love how much the facial expressions Jack crafts delicately render and lay bare for us the intricacies of the human condition, especially the problem of evil, as only someone who's intimately familar with how people act and emote in real life non fantasy worlds can:

OVER THERE That link? If yes, try it now.

Thanks.

I guess. :)

WTF. Does Jack realize that the "Doctor" of God would not have to charge six figures, nor have his son killed? If Jesus is God, then God had himself enbodied, then killed, for the purpose of jumping through a hoop He made and, worse, that only He cares about.

This is extremely odd behavior.

God hasn't done anything particularly difficult, and the "six figures from his own pocket" and "death of his son" are what? Attempts to make humans grateful at this artificial, unneeded sacrifice?

Apparently God is retarded a drama queen.
