There's no point. Travelling at light speed requires infininte energy. I disagree that there's no point. I agree with Godmode's general idea that our focus as a species should be on increasing traveling speed records, rather than celebrating what we currently perceive to be inherent limitations.
By the way, I recall reading about speculation that some particles (neutrinos?) may travel faster than the speed of light. Have these speculations been discredited?
