Fake Child Death Video From Hamas?

Lots of controversy over this video and whether or not it's legitimate:

The criticisms are:
1. Presence of Norwegian Hamas supporter doctor Mads Gilbert, who is on record as saying doctors should take sides in conflicts and that he supports the 9/11 attacks.

2. The guy doing the chest compressions is barely applying any pressure at all on the chest, it's as if he has no CPR training at all.

3. Blood spot on sheet gets bigger between hospital and cemetary.

4. Video has obvious cuts in it.

5. While carrying the body head is unsupported but doesn't flop around, but body is still limber indicating no rigor mortis.

I know we have some medical professionals on this site whose opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm on the fence about this one, but leaning towards fake.

I don't think that's particularly damning. You don't do CPR chest compressions with the same vigor on a child as you do on an adult.

I have no overall opinion at this point.

I can't say. There are moments where it seems to me questionable but given my bias I have to be skeptical of my own impressions. The evidence isn't enough for me to offer an opinion.

At 00:39-00:40 I can see no pressure at all being applied while doing the CPR.
Also doesn't the CPR look too fast? I'm no expert on this but as far as I know you need to do the pumping at 1 second intervals.
Another thing is the brother filming while his brother is under CPR and dying. That doesn't seem like normal child behavior. Wouldn't you be shocked, almost paralyzed if your brother's life was on the line after seeing him get hit by a bomb? I would be devastated, barely standing on my feet not to mention not being able to hold a camera and tape the whole thing.
But I'm no doctor and I wasn't there so who knows.

4. Video has obvious cuts in it.
Isn't that true of all news reports?

I don't see any moment in either video where the body is carried with the head unsupported.

The brother isn't a child. He's a professional cameraman. I think it is normal behaviour for a cameraman working for a news channel in a war zone to keep filming during stressful situations.

Seems odd to me that a professional videographer avoids clearly showing his subject.

Look at the 2:32 mark in the Channel 4 video. The head bobs to the side and is not supported.

Not sure I see any particular motive to fake this. It's not as if Palestinian children aren't getting killed there every day. It should be easy enough to hang around Dr. Gilbert's office and see a genuine traumatically wounded child brought in. Why go to the trouble of faking it?

It doesn't seem odd to me that a news channel would edit out the most disturbing bits.

It looks to me like the guy has his arm under the cloth, supporting the neck and base of the head, just like he can be seen doing in several other shots.

Because this way they can tell a more emotionally charged story. Poor freelance cameraman finds out his next story is coverig his own brother's death. Instant coverage around the world! No other child death is being so widely reported, not as dramatic as this one. This one has all the elements the western media loves.

The brother was also stated as being "... determined to show the world the human cost of this conflict." Sounds like a prior agenda to me, how convenient for his own brother to come up as a subject. Of course, this doesn't prove anything ... but my eyebrow's raised on this one.

Hey Beeps ... welcome back. Where have you been all this time?

Wow so when faced with your country's handiwork, its all a Conspiracy Theory and a lie. If the Hamas people are willing to do all this why not just hack up a bunch of babies and pile them up and video tape them as victims?

Israel's enemies have a history of such behavior. Just google fauxtography hezbollah for over 12,000 hits.

Nevertheless, I'm leaning towards this one being legit.

FWIW, in response to WildCat's question how someone can watch his own brother dying and film the whole thing, I've said it before and I'll say it again: The only thing a Palestinian loves as much as a dead Jew is a dead Palestinian.
