Face, meet leopard. Leopard, meet face.

maybe you show up and they stick a finger up your ass, stick you in jail over night, and send you home. maybe you come and have a nice time. all depends on how much you made fun of trump on social media when they go through your phone to find out your political opinions

And therein lies the problem. I am too supportive of the woke trans agenda, even going so far to "like" some of my trans friends' posts.

That alone disqualifies me from entry to the United States.

You should consider emigrating

You should consider not worrying about what I do.

I can be critical of the country I live in while still being here, because I'm an adult. Your POTUS is killing the economy in my city that depends on Canadian tourism and I work for the city.

Good to see you're one of those people now, though. One of the righties that say, "If you don't like it, you can git out!" Very on-brand.

You know it's the exact same refrain that "lefties" have been using for decades, don't you? States in the heartland, with lots of rural land, where jobs are scarce... "They should just move to a city" has pretty much been the standard comment whenever that's brought up. Of course, that's largely driven by the fact that those non-coastal, non-enormous-city locations tend to skew conservative. And we all know that partisan bias is alive and strong.

Inner city people in poverty and struggling? Well clearly the government needs to do something about that and provide services to those poor people.

Rural people in poverty and struggling? Well that's their own fault for being dummies living somewhere without enough high-skilled jobs, those people need to take control of their lives, move to a big city, and learn a high-tech skill so they can stop being a drain on the country.

Another whataboutism? You're really getting the miles out of that fallacy, eh?

You don't have to speak to me about rural living. I live in North Dakota, spent my whole summers in my youth in a small town outside of Pelican Rapids, MN. My extended family lives in a town of less than 200 people. If you want to see partisan bias, say anything other than how much you love Trump and you might as well get out of town right now. In fact, it's why most of my family doesn't speak anymore.

Everyone in poverty should get help from the government.

Most of my extended family is very well off. They own things like construction companies, land that they lease for grazing, one that owns a liquor store, etc.

I don't know where this random ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ red herring is coming from, but you're on a fallacy roll so might as well keep going.

If you're looking for the #1 person ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ over the rural class, look no further than your POTUS. He's stripping medical support (literally rural hospitals are going to be closing) and cutting funding for rural schools. Gotta keep them kids dumb. Quit pointing fingers at me when your side is the one ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ them over the hardest.

I thought "lefties" had been trying to bring more socialism to poor rural people, and been soundly trounced for their trouble.

There's value in calling out hypocrisy.

It's not hypocritical. Hell, it's not even a good comparison if you wanted to go that route.

Person A: There are no jobs here in the countryside to help support me.
Person B: If you moved to the city there are way more jobs because that's where the businesses are.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Person A: I have a well-paying job, house, car, family, and an established life in a city in the US; however, there are things about the government I don't like, including the terrible things they're doing to immigrants, the poor, and everyone that isn't a white, rich person. It sucks.
You: You should leave the country entirely.

Yup, same exact thing.

I see a news article every few days about how the visitor levels are down here in Vegas. Canadians are the top international market, and gains from other countries have more than been offset by the Canadian drop they say.

There are other causes - people are sick of being nickle and dimed in fees and food/drink costs are way up. Convention traffic is actually holding steady as well. The casinos are doing things like waiving resort fees for the summer, but some of them are just jacking up the room rates so that's more like a wash.

There's value in calling out hypocrisy.

Except that you've pointed out no hypocrisy. You've manufactured a position that no one of any consequence has taken, least of all anyone here, and are now pretending it's an official position of Democrats.

Biden earmarked over $5 billion to help rural communities. Guess who foots the bill for that? Taxpayers living in blue cities.

Every Democrat who voted for Biden in 2020 voted to help rural communities.

And every Democrat who voted for Harris in 2024 voted to continue to help rural communities.

And guess who works to deny rural communities that help? Republicans.

Please stop telling ridiculous lies to create "hypocrisy" where there is none.
