Asked to remove some clothing yes; when you're worried about explosives being strapped to a person's body, it just makes sense to remove an article of clothing or two in order to be sure that the person isn't strapped to blow.

Yeah, he was stripped naked. BBC kept replaying a witness talking about it, hours after he'd been dismissed as uninvolved.

I hadn't heard naked. I had heard he was asked to remove a few articles of clothing; I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he was exaggerating somewhat.

It wasn't exaggerated. Some of the news networks showed it, carefully blurred.

He was completely naked. The footage was clear enough to see that he was no stranger to the gym.

Must've missed that... I was in class most of today, so not surprising. Probably by the time I heard it all the networks were softening the report to make it sound not quite so bad.
