I think standards are lowering proportionately now. NPR is pre-empting Science Friday to carry on-going "coverage" of Boston events.

Major US sports event bombed by terrorists; massive shootout in the middle of the night in Boston with grenades thrown at police and a dead suspect wearing an explosive vest. Entire city of Boston basically told to stay at home, all public transportation shut down. Why would any of this be considered important to National Public Radio?
