Again, my position is that it's premature to assume there was any ideological motivation--any political or religious cause, or that they had been "radicalized".
 
Joe, when I mentioned the talking head and radicalization, I meant I was stunned that she thought living only in liberal areas of Boston they had no opportunity to "become radicalized".

Hence my comment re: the Internet.

I've said several times, I have no knowledge that they were radicalized.

Get it... no contradiction, just you coming in after the last time I had posted my full opinion.

What I just don't understand is why these two guys were still in the area days after the marathon. Wouldn't it make more sense to get as far away as possible? Or does sense not really come in to this, at least the sense a normal non-bomber would use?

Maybe. Maybe they planned on more mayhem. Just seems off to be so cold and calculating to do what they did, and then just hang around. Or maybe they've spent the last few days absolutely freaking out. My guess is the one with the most answers was shot, blown up, and run over this morning.

I was amused by the talking heads I heard this morning, mentioning several times that the bombers possibly had some para-military training because they were tossing grenades..

Why ' para -' ? Because it sounds more sinister ?
 
Wow this thread grew overnight. I skipped about 20 pages as I assume it was filled with everything that has been gleamed so far. Just heard that the remaining suspect is a U.S. citizen.

Went to bed last night reading a story about an MIT officer being shot and thought nothing of it. Woke up this morning to all hell breaking loose.

Where did you hear he was a US citizen? I heard he had a green card.
 
CNN is still playing up the "jihadist" angle via some pompous interview about an hour ago..
